A few days back, Airtel Nigeria released a teaser video on YouTube about their unlimited data Packages that will be coming soon. And since then we have been anticipating and waiting, but Airtel has silently lunch the package without any announcement.

In these age of technology the best choice for internet data plan is unlimited data. The introduction of unlimited data plan by Airtel is a very good idea, but the prices tagged to the packages are not friendly at all.

The Unlimited package comes in 3 different packages, meaning you can choose anyone that best suite you. Meaning you can choose anyone that best suits you. But why the difference in price when the data is unlimited?

let’s take a look at the Airtel unlimited data packages, the prices, and their activation codes.

Airtel Unlimited Packages

You can dial *141# and follow prompts or dial the below codes;

N10,000 Unlimited Package, Valid for 30days

N15,000 Unlimited Package, Valid for 30days

N20,000 Unlimited Package, Valid for 30days

To Activate Any of The Data Package

For N10,000 Unlimited package, dial *471#

For N15,000 Unlimited package, dial *463#

For N20,000 unlimited package, dial *351#



So my take, obviously we need an unlimited data plan, but how does Airtel expect an average Nigerian to be able to afford these data plan.

I mean is it based on the data cap or speed difference, as we surely know that it can’t be truly unlimited. But there might be possibility of it been truly unlimited because of the prices, but Na Naija We Dey.

Spectranet is offering 12500 for 40GB and throttled night downloads. Nobody talk
Ntel is offering 10k on a network that can't even download at 1MB/sec. Nobody talk
Etisalat is offering 8k for 11GB. Nobody bats an eye


But one network that already offers good midnight plans already is trying to help people that use high volume internet and you're complaining. Who told you internet is free?

This is not for everybody. If you can't afford it, you stick to your Glo or cheat or whatever network. It's not by force

I remember my stay in India, we were using 3000 naira for unlimited browsing them in 2013.
