Auchi polytechnic has about 5 pick-vans (TOYOTA HILLUX type) which is being used by the security unit and also 2 luxurious buses,not different from Macopolo.

Innoson has continued to grow from strength to strength as a brand, Anambra state uses hundreds of the brand for different official purposes, school buses, student union buses, church associations, official vehicles for VIPs and for MDAs, I know of NBA, NMA, NAUTH, infact too numerous to mention, the pickup is use by the local security outfits of every community in the state, there are even heavy duty refuse disposal trucks, many transport companies also use them for long hauls, even to other African countries....trust me they outperform and outlast their chinese counterparts, even under very rough usage conditions, and there has been several improvements over the years!

From a little online research i did recently, the innoson umu and fox were released in 2014(about two years ago) but i am yet to see anyone driving one. i have only seen one of their buses on the road and havent seen a single pick up truck or sedan on the road(i leave in Lagos). I know someone who has been using Innoson truck, a hilux equivalent for 2 years now as escort vehicle for his long trips.

The way the Federal government can truly buy Nigerian products, is to ensure that all government purchasing vehicle departments, only buy innoson vehicles......

IVM isn't popular not necessarily because his cars are expensive or maybe below standard. But largely because he isn't backed by the FG via policies to give him an edge. A little example; should the FG lift the ban on importation of cement,dangote will struggle to compete in the cement market. Coz it is a whole lot cheaper to import a 52.5R bag of cement from say India than to buy his 42.5R which he is currently selling to us here in Nigeria.Mind you 52.5R is of a higher tensile stength than 42.5R. But with the ban he is boss ,having close to 67% of the Nigerian cement market to himself, that is the effect government policies can have in growing a local product.
