It’s no longer news the level of corruption from NEPA to PHCN… Our reporter who was also affected by the massive high increase in the electricity bill, visited their branch office at Oke-Ira station, Ogba, Ikeja.

According to him, when he arrived there, he met about 12 people crying over the same issue. An elderly woman in her early 70s was practically in tears explaining to them. Then, he was able to find out that it was almost the same estimated bill that was given to everybody.

When Diamond Celebrities' reporter then asked Mrs Yinka who they said was the assistant to the marketing manager, on why the sudden 120 per increase, and Mrs Yinka said in plain language ” It is due to the increase in power supply”

Please Nigerians, supply of what? As you will see below, our reporter paid about 3,900 last month, and now the new bill for this month is about 11,200. Why do this Government like seeing its citizens suffer like this?

Is it a crime to be a Nigerian? We demand that the Federal Government and the EFCC investigate this issue. This is a pure case of corruption.

This has nothing to do with Buhari. It was Jonathan that privatised NEPA. You should go to Lagos Island, especially Lekki, Ikate, Osapa, Agungi, Ikota, VGC etc., areas all the way to Ajah. These areas are located under Eko Disco. You will see monthly bills starting from =N=25,000 to even =N=60,000. angry Some even record higher than that! shocked On top of darkness, o! During that bad rainfall that turned most of Lekki into a swimming pool, Eko Disco was the first to announce that there would be prolonged blackout, because of the rainfall which affected their substations and several transformers. You would have thought the bill for the month will reduce, right? For where...?? Only God can deliver us from these stupid Discos. At least in the days of NEPA, there was no light, but they hardly inflicted such exorbitant estimated bills on the residents. sad

- Electricity consumers not provided with prepaid meters as at March 1 have been told to stop paying electricity bills - This is the directive from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) - The Distribution Companies (DISCOs) have however fired back saying the rule is not applicable to all Nigerians The NERC has declared that electricity consumers that were not provided with prepaid meters as at March 1 should stop paying electricity bills presented by DISCOs on the basis of estimated billing methodology. The commission also ordered the DISCOs not to disconnect any such customer that refuses to pay the bills and further advised such customers to report to the commission if disconnected. The NERC said the new directive is in line with its mandate of protecting the rights of customers.
