I've heard so many rumours about the unreliability of Peugeot 406 (1999-2003 models)
-are the rumours true?
-I'm considering getting a 406glx (2003 model) auto trans!-shd i go on or do i stick to manual trans?
.how fuel efficient is a 406?
-does the 2003 406 have any particular issues with auto transmission and Brainbox (ECU),?
your answers are highly appreciated!!!

there's a huge fanbase for peugeot 406-its just dat we've been hearing plenty rumours and wudnt want 2 buy a lemon!
I use a peugeot 306 and its been largely ok!
wud want 2 upgrade to a 406-so help out with your candid advice!!!!

I always tell people that no car is bad, only it's OWNER and their mechanic.


Service the car well and with original part replacement(when needed) and the car will serve you well in return.

As for fuel economy, it's good enough, but not as good as hyundai, toyota, honda or nissan.
