After years of hard work at the den to obtain a good grade,here I am struggling to get a decent employment. I really don't want to sound like I'm frustrated but I'm close to losing my edge. I know my case is not unique but I'd still share it with you my fellow nairalander. I started my career as a class teacher,then I joined a hospital as HMO/Debt recovery & reconciliation officer,two years after - I got an offer in one of the best HMOs in Nigeria,few months later I got a Fed Gov Job at a COE. Working for the government has always been at the top of my list plus my love for teaching, I couldn't turn down the offer which made me resign from my HMO job. After documentation, I was told to go home that they'll tell me when to resume. Guess what, today makes it a year and 3 days since I accepted the job and I'm yet to hear from them. Well I've decided to forge ahead... I've been job hunting since April,2017 and nothing good is forth coming. Today, my mind tells me to try nairaland. Pls read on... 3 Likes |

Guy, A lot of guys are in dz same situation of yours called unemployment. Guy, from a research on Nigeria & unemployment, Ratio for Available job is 1 job to 1000 people meaning if u post a job for one position not less than 1000 people will apply. The government, recruitment consultants, employers and Human resources officers know this. The Government cannot help you, Private companies cannot help you, recently it is becoming difficult for connection to help. Only God can, but the Nigeria situation of 1 to 1000 makes it complex. 1 job vacancy and all of d applicants believe in God. Abeg wetin God go do? Na 1 position dey na. It might dismay u to know dt d unemployment rate is not only increasing but in d recession it's hyper increasing. Now, what will a guy man do, u r on ur own, u either go legit or illegit. I looked for a choice location and put it there and started d hustle. God blesses the hustle of his Children Guy, Dts how i have been living and I have 3 show glasses now in different location of my city, planning for the 4th. Still looking for job since mid last year when my contract job ended but haven't gotten one. Imagine dt I am still waiting for job now. I go wait tire. I go don suffer die. I go dey complain up & down. Don't put ur fate in the hand of Nigeria. The country is a failed state. You have ur fate in your head. Use it. Don't wait, act! Op sorry o! The country is not smiling and many like you are in the same shoe plus recession is not helping. You have flt to try diaxdag is a testimony. Once there is a job advert for just one slot you have about not less than 35000 applicant. Imagine the police needs just 10,000 over 300,000 applied. Keep on moving, dont stop. |
