1." SERGE GNABRY"
e

The most glaring example of an Arsenal player finding success after his departure, Gnabry has enjoyed a spectacular couple of season's since asking to leave in the summer of 2016.

After an exciting breakthrough in 2013/14, the German suffered a long term knee injury that saw him miss all of the next season. On his return in 2015, he found himself loaned out to West Brom, with the aim of regaining form and fitness. However, under Tony Pulis, Gnabry found himself bafflingly sidelined, despite the Baggie's lack of flair.

His own disillusionment grew and in 2016, following a six goal effort at the Rio Olympics, he forced a move back to Germany, with Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen happy to snap up the youngster for a bargain £5m.

And, to no ones surprise, Gnabry flourished in his loan season with Werder, scoring 11 goals and laying on a single assist as he near single-handedly saved his team from relegation.

This summer, Bavarian giants Bayern Munich laid claim to the now full German international (scoring a hat-trick on debut for Die Mannschaft), and he was promptly loaned out to Champions league debutants Hoffenheim, again at his own request.
2. "BENIK AFOBE"
m

Once seen as an even more exciting prospect than long time teammate Jack Wilshere, Afobe was every inch a prototypical Arsenal striker, boasting a fantastic youth record with 40 goals for the U16s in 2007–08, 11 goals in 13 appearances in 2008–09, and 21 goals in 24 appearances for Arsenal U18 in 2009–10.

However, following a series of disappointing lower league loans, the Dagenham-made prospect was granted a transfer to Wolves for just £2m in 2015. Following 22 goals in his lone season in the Championship, Afobe was then snapped up by then Premier League new boys AFC Bournemouth for a then record £10m.

In 44 top flight appearances for the Cherries thus far, Afobe has scored 10 goals, putting in a series of eye-catching displays in the process.
3. "ANDY COLE"
m

A player often associated with a darker shade of red, it is a little known fact that Andy Cole in fact spent his formative years with Arsenal.

The striker made his senior debut at 19, as an 86th-minute substitute against Sheffield United. He then went on to make just one more appearance before being loaned to third division Fulham, and was subsequently sold to Bristol City for a mere £500,000.

But this was the start of an excellent career in which the striker would also play for Newcastle United, Manchester United, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Burnley and finally Nottingham Forest.

Indeed it was at United where he became a household name, forming a deadly partnership with Trinidadian Dwight Yorke that was the talk of Europe. Indeed, whilst at Old Trafford, Cole was a key part of the legendary treble winning team and scored 121 of his career-total 289 goals. He also made 15 appearances for England but, but strangely managed only a solitary goal.
4. OGUZHAN ÖZYAkUP"
m

A player known amongst fans as simply ''Ozzy'', Oğuzhan Özyakup signed for Arsenal as a schoolboy from his native Netherlands in 2008.

A technically excellent silky playmaker, Ozzy was a key cog in the Gunners' FA Youth Cup winning side of 2008/09, playing alongside the likes of Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin and Henry Lansbury in a midfield that all went on to strong professional careers.

Despite a glowing reputation however, Ozaykup's path to the first team was continually blocked, as he made just two senior appearances before joining Besiktas.

Since returning to his familial homeland of Turkey, Ozyakup has proved a revelation. An ever present as the black eagles won back to back Turkish league titles, Ozzy has also amassed 25 international caps since making his full debut in 2013, and is often linked with a move to one of Europe's leading lights.
5." HARVARD NORDVEIT"
m

As a youth prospect Nordtveit was personally scouted and visited by manager Arsene Wenger in his native Norway, signing on in 2007 for an initial £500,000.

A classy yet hard-nosed centre back, like many on this list Nordtveit found his route to the first team hindered by incoming signings, and after three loan spells in three years, finally made the plunge and joined Bundesliga side Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Here he enjoyed a fantastic five year stint, transtitioning into defensive midfield as he made 152 league appearances for the Foals.

In 2016 he made a return to English shores, this time with West Ham, but after a solitary disappointing season has now returned to the Bundesliga. Thankfully, his stock in Germany remains high, and he was headhunted by Hoffenheim, where he will join fellow former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry in 2017/18.
6."STEVE SIDWELL"
n

Sidwell has enjoyed a long and fruitful career since initially breaking through with the Gunners. However, things started ignominiously for the midfielder as he failed to make a single appearance for the North Londoners before being shipped to Reading.

In four years and 168 appearances with the Royals, Sidwell truly established himself as a Premier League player, with top flight spells at Chelsea, Aston Villa, Fulham and Stoke to follow.

Most recently Sidwell, now 34, has found himself at recently promoted Brighton and Hove Albion, and there is little doubt his experience at the highest level will come in handy throughout the season.
