The Federal Government of Nigeria says it won't absolutely boycott the importation of genuinely utilized vehicles, prevalently known as tokunbo.

It said the proposed boycott will just produce full results when a powerful fund plot is propelled to empower natives to purchase fresh out of the box new ones.

The Director General, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Jelani Aliyu, made this exposure at a partners' gathering yesterday in Lagos.

Aliyu, while communicating government's sense of duty regarding executing the national car arrangement, said the FG would present a vehicle back plan before the finish of the year.

As per Aliyu, "the NADDC would work intimately with alternate partners to address the area's difficulties and advance activities that would empower it to deliver moderate vehicles that would facilitate the nation's mass transport challenges".

He additionally hailed the entry of the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) Bill by the House of Representatives and the move to do likewise by the Senate.

Bebetos, the Nigerian economy isn't there yet. Empower natives _ with jobs or car loans? Minimum wage is N18,000. Where are the natives supposed to see funds to repay the car loans.

They should increase minimum wage and leave Tokunbo alone.

I am wondering why they can't get patent for regular Benz, VW golf 1, 2 and 3.... 190... vBoot and other tested and proven reliable cars... Instead of Kia Hyundai or that curse Nissan
