BITSWORKS Nigeria is a multi-discipline construction company comprising of architects, builders, civil engineers and interior designers.

We currently have a brief for a client to construct 4 units of 2 bedrooms flats on a plot of land in Mowo-Nla, Ikorodu. This is a virgin land with two plots side by side and it is a fairly flat terrain. We will be constructing on just a plot for now but we will be building a perimeter wall to secure both lands.

We will share the floor plan, elevations and 3D views once we have finalized on the design and permission has been given by the client.

We are currently constructing the perimeter wall and since its still part of the project, we will showcase and highlight the construction process here in the interim, until we start the main dwelling unit construction.

Excavation work for the foundation footing trench started on the 11th of July and concluded on the 13th of July due to intermittent rainfall.

Block setting work in progress, we used 6" blocks all through with columns at intervals. The client earmarked 9 coaches all round with 2 entrance gates but due to the sloppy nature of the site, some places will have more than 9 coaches.

Casting of the columns between the runs of block setting took place once we were done with the block work.

Staging of the entrance gate, we have two gates planned for the 2 plots of land. Both gates will grant access to each plot once the center demarcation wall has been erected but that's much later.

After the staging of the gates, the carpentry formwork and reinforcements work is done and it is then casted. We used a concrete mix of 1:2:4 .

The size of the gate pillar post (columns) is 22" x 22". This will add beauty to the facade of the gate later on when it is finished in artificial stones or tiles.

Gate columns all done and being allowed to cure. We won't remove the wood and bamboo bracing for another 2 weeks.

We are back to site this month to continue the project.

Land clearing and grubbing started today in preparation for the foundation work starting next week.

The client also prefers blocks moulded on site so we will be mobilizing our block making equipment to site this weekend to start moulding blocks.

Site has been cleared and the moulding of 9" blocks have commenced.
