The Ogun State Police Command of the Nigeria police Force arrested one 77 year old Samuel Babatunde (prophet), who founded a cherubim and seraphim church 'Itedo Isinmi Ayo' in Egan Road in Ado-Ota Local Government Area of the state. and three people after discovering human parts buried inside a Samuel's church.
He was arrested by security operatives of the state after a serial killer was napped last week. the serial killer was the one that leads the police to the prophet after he claims that the prophet was the person he supplies human parts to.
Among the three others arrested was an herbalist who helps the prophet to buried two human body at the entrance of the church.
the Ogun state police commissioner, Mr. Ahmed Iliyasu while speaking on the arrest said, " On the strength of the intelligence, detectives from the Ota Area Command were detailed to effect the arrest of the suspect. At about 10.20am of the date, their efforts paid off when the said Jeremiah Adeola was arrested.
" On interrogation, he confessed to being a serial kidnapper and mentioned the name of the prophet as the receiver of the kidnapped children.
" Upon his revelation, he was taken to the church of the said prophet at Iyana-Iyesi Ota, where 77-year-old Samuel Babatunde, the man in charge of the church, and one Haruna Afolabi, a 42-year-old traditional worshiper, were arrested.
" The floor of the church was dug as described by the first suspect, and suspected human parts were brought out.
The commisioner of police said forensic examination will be done on the body as the prophet who owns the church claims he buried pigs not human body so as to bring good furtunes and other good things to him and the church. On the other hand, the arrested serial killer who leads the police to the prophet said he recently sold two children to the prophet at 50,000 each while the prophet claimed that the serial killer has mental problem.
