On the part of govt. integrating them back to the society should also come with something tangible to start up a living, Send those children back to school.
It's so unfortunate this is happening in our Oil-rich country.

If you accuse majority of the victims of ignorance induced by conceit and greed I'll agree with you. But saying that the traffickers are not evil and shouldn't be blamed, I won't agree with you.

A trafficker is like a typical predator - a fraudster or ungodly religious leader - he'll pretentiously make you to believe that paradise awaits you once you gratify him upfront and he led you a specific destination/country. It takes a perfidious person to be a trafficker.

The definition of trafficking as moving people from A to B by deceit and payment being made is no applicable in the Nigerian Context . I worked with an NGO from the UK for 3 month in Niger Republic . .2009
Though I had to be empathetic , the vast majority of them knew what they where getting into.they had an agreement with thier trolley . (Traffickers )most of the guys think N400k will get them to Europe . Now tell me what did a girl of 22 thinks she is going to do in Italy ? Most or some of these guys buy maps and directions b4 they embark on the journey . Everyone throws in the trafficking card to gain sympathy from officials when stranded . Cos if you claimed you traveled at your own accord you ain't getting nothing . Only the vonorable are exempt .

In School.
Because of corruption the body tasked with regulatin d establishmnt of schools will turn a blind eye, while incompetent school dropouts are made to teach our children in Private primary/Secondary schools...
With this very foundations, our kids spend yrs through nursery thru secondary schools without knowing how to write of converse coherently in good english...because of corruption, the people meant to police them in school slack at it, and they join cult...
And in time the terrorise the community and after that they start looking for money, hence they steal and after that they rob at gun point... Have you seen what the failure of th e education regulating body has caused ? Look at Badoo boys, they are the failures of our corruption ridden education system.

Trafficking : Trafficking especially in persons exist as a result of corruption ... Normally , there are supposed to be checkpoints at designated points to ensure that nobody is forcibly moved without his/her consent.. But then if u carry a trailer, the police and will not climb to see if there are people tied up there if u grease their palms with 50/100box.

Health Sector: money has been budgetted for a hospital, a corrupt governor contracts it to his friend, his friend contracts it to the e guy who organized those to steal the ballot. Every one takes his share of the money.. Before it gets through the site contractor to the house worker ... Its almost depleted , for a multimillion naira contract, a small apartment gets built, with very few substandard equipments, it still gets commissioned with lots of fanfare (if it ever gets commissioned ) we dont feel it untill we are in an emergency and its just that quack place around...tge poor feel it more, because its just the quack place that they can afford

The Federal Government has warned parents against trafficking or aiding their children to migrate to other countries, illegally. The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Mustapha Maihajja, made this known in Lagos on Thursday while receiving about 138 Nigerians (deported) returned from Libya.

Maihajja, who was represented by the South-West Zonal Coordinator, Suleiman Yakubu, at the event, said that the activities of the traffickers and their conspirators were becoming too embarrassing for the country.

He said, “Parents and relatives of some of these deportees have been discovered to be fully involved in aiding their wards on these illegal and deadly journeys.

“Trafficking is worst than corruption as those involved are misleading and denying young victims of brighter and promising future in the country. “Many parents and relations sold their properties to send these young ones to seek the so-called greener pasture that doesn’t exist because of their greed.”

A total of 138 returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, aboard an Airbus A320 aircraft with Flight number BRQ 189/190.

The 106 female adults, three female children and eight male adults, 18 male children and three male infants arrived at about 6:10 p.m.

Maihajja said about 2, 232 people had been brought back to Nigeria by the International Organisation for Migration since March, 2016, adding that NEMA and other stakeholders had been organising rehabilitation and reintegration programme to help them back into the society.

He added that the Federal Government had convicted about 325 traffickers so far while several other cases at various levels were ongoing in different parts of the country.
