The reason is chiefly because most artiste are too confident in themselves. This is not to say that Nigerian music isn't doing fine on the basis of making cool and 'danceable' music, but the difference abound in what we do herewhen compared to that of the US. Music is meant to outlive the singer. Music is a tool that should in future be revisited by the generations of that time. Music of the likes of Boyz2Men, Celine Dion, MJ, Whitney Houston, R.Kelly, Tupac, etcetera, outlive them. Some of these artistes no longer make new songs but they continually reap the dividend of quality music; they still have shows with songs they sang in the 80s.
