1) Cats are not mean but they are the divas of the animal world. They probably think they own you.

2) Yes, cats and dogs can live together in peace and harmony. There's usually bound to be a clash if they are meeting for the first few times though. In a dog/cat fight, the cat will usually get the better of the dog due to its sharp reflexes and agility.

3) Your cat can sleep in your room.

4) I don't know what you mean by dominant but a cat probably believes you exist to serve it.

6) Why on earth would you want to give a cat dog food? Cats aren't fussy. They'll eat most of what you eat.

7) I'm only aware of the mongoose being immune to snake venom. I doubt if a cat is. However they've been known to kill snakes. Cats are extremely agile and that probably helps them in their fights with snakes. Do discourage your cat from fighting snakes though (assuming you're there when it happens).

9) I suppose a vet can treat a broad range of pets and farm animals

10) What kind of training do you have in mind? Tricks? Grooming? Cats self groom and are very hygiene conscious. They also like to bury their poop. If you see a cat scratching the floor or carpet it's a good indicator that he wants to poop and you should let him out. Other than that, you can get him a sandbox for him to do his thing in.
As for teaching a cat tricks, I guess it can be done but good luck with that

11) Just about all animals (the worst probably being the Komodo dragon) carry some kind of toxin(s) in their saliva. This is normal. A cats saliva won't burn you, however I don't know what will happen if the skin is broken. Probably nothing in my opinion. Same thing with a dog (unless the dog has rabies).

All said and done, a cat is an awesome pet to have, as long as you're not expecting it to behave like a dog. They are polar opposites.
