# Perhaps you've been patronising unspecialised doctors. Try and see specialist.

# However, on the local herbs stuff:

* No doubt alcohol extract more than water. However, you can easily distill off the alcohol without decomposing the alkaloids in the herbs.

* Use alcohol (here Gin, which is 40+ % ethanol) to soak (i.e extract)

* Boil the extract at a very low temperature

* Ethanol is expected to evaporate at 78°C. So, we expect all the ethanol to have gone off once the temperature rises to like 85°C.

* You can detect this (complete evaporation of ethanol - GIN) by continuously smelling the extract.

* If it is (ethanol) GIN-free, then it is okay to drink.

# That is a "process of changing" in fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence).

# If you drink the extract with GIN or any other alcohol without the abovementioned highlighted process, am afraid you have violated a law of God.

# Again, there is always alternative if we search with efforts.

# May Allah give you shifa (cure).

Ethanol can be used for extraction and there is a process that removes it, remove the alcohol in it, and the end product won't have alcohol, but I can't advice that. You probably won't be able to test it to be sure and I don't know if it's halal, but I know this process is possible. The one albaqir posted.

I read a bit about this when learning to make herbal tinctures and extracts.

However I would suggest for back pain, most drugs or herbs don't give lasting effects. They just help relieve the pain a little.

Lifestyle changes is needed.

1. What kind of mattress do you sleep on? This can make a huge difference.

2. What is your sleeping position?

3. Do you exercise? Exercise with specific poses that targets the back

4. What's the cause of the back pain?

5. Is it your spinal bone or there is another issue with the back

6. What's your body postures ie how do you sit, stand, walk etc
