The stainless steel Automatic garri frying machine is an expensive piece of machinery, no doubt, but we are here to see, if it is actually necessary to acquire this machinery for the price of N600,000 (six hundred thousand naira only) or N700,000 (seven hundred thousand naira only), instead of buying the stainless steel manual garri frying trays for just 480,000 (three pieces, with chimney).

Before we decide on this, let us take some time and do a bit of a calculation, in relation to both type of frying piece.

Our calculation would be based on 10bags per day capacity.

Note that, for manual fryers, you need four of these to comfortably take care of 15bags of 50kg, per day. Though, with experienced workers, three trays would suffice

For the automatic fryers, I would say, three fryers. These three fryers would give 15bags, comfortably. With good hands, two automatic garri frying machine would suffice for 15bags a day. But in this case, we would use two, for the calculation.

USING MANUAL FRYERS


Currently, it takes just N600 to fry a bag of 50kg. This implies that, for 15bags of 50kg, we would spend

N600 X 15bags = N9,000

If we work for 6 days a week, then we would be spending

N9,000 X 6times = N54,000

In a month, we would produce

90bags (per week) X 4 weeks (per month) = 360 bags of 50kg.

With this, it'll cost

360bags (per month) X N600 (cost of frying per bag) = N216,000.

That is the cost of frying 15bags per day, 90bags per day, 360bags per month, using manual fryers.

USING AUTOMATIC FRYERS



For two manual fryers, you would purchase for N1,200,000 (our company price). That's a high price, but let's do the maths.

For these two manual fryers, you need just one manager and one assistant. Do not forget, that these two would also be in control of the whole operation from peeling to frying- if you employ the automated method of production. Even with three automatic fryers.

For manual fryers, it costs us N216,000 to fry, per month.

Now, if the manager collects N50,000 and the assistant, collects N35,000 (do not forget that both of them are not necessarily graduates, who would require and expect hefty salaries).

That's N85,000 per month, to fry the same 360bags of 50kg.

You already saved N210,000 - N85,000 = N131,000.

Now, if it takes 10 liters of diesel per day, for a month, that's less than N80,000 (with current price of diesel, in Nigeria).

Now, N131,000 - N80,000 = N51,000 saved, every month!!!

Considering others sell same between 800 and 1.4million.
