Everything we do is motivated by something. The oba of lagos is not the most powerful man in nigeria. But he is building his safety net with all these gestures. He has seen more powerful men and even challenge them. Only one thing would make kaduna governor genuflect in such humble way. It is called politics.

During the Feudalism era. Subordinate had to pay homage to superior. And even renew pledge of allegiance to Superior. You pay a huge Amount called homage or protection money. At least somebody has got your back with the fees. That is what the governor is doing.

He has thought Tinubu sufficient lessons in collaboration with Tanbuwal and the whole country is leaking the wound of having a Bukola Saraki as Senate a president.
Now he's back in the game this time around to scuttle the widely published Ibadan summit. He has find in Akinolu a soft target to lead the opposition to restructing in SW. The seeming silence of Asiwaju is not helping the matter. After all, Akinola has demonstrated in word and action that he has no respect for the Yoruba race by saying Lagos does not belong to Yoruba and by disrespecting the Ooni.
El-rufai, this Ibadan declaration is not about party politics, the North may wave all the religious sentiments to cause disunity among the Yorùbás. IT HAD FAILED. ON RESTRUCTING WE STAND!

From the picture, what is so special about El - Rufai greeting. Is that not a normal way of greeting a traditional ruler on a private visit?
In the culture of Fulani , greeting a respected ruler that way is normal especially an old man. Greeting in official capacity might be different. I remembered White Americans were angry with Obama for bowing his head as a sign of respect while greeting Saudi Arabia ruler in his first term. In some part of Africa, that is our culture.

In Nigeria, we have tribe (s) that don't respect
elders. Once you have money, you become chief & start to exchange banters with elders.

I am sure in Nigeria also, we have tribes that respect elders. FFK or Fayose will not visit Emir of Zazzau on a private visit & not greet him in a cultural way.
