The Eagles Then waxed stronger And this paid off 3 minutes later with Moses Peter receiving a pass inside the box and got a beautiful shot pass the Sierra Leone Goal keeper, Nigeria then threatened later on with Gabriel a shot from Gabriel denied by only by the Crossbar from 6 yards.
Nigerian Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa was also a hero deny the Sierra leonean Team with Some couples of Saves,

With the victory, Nigeria will take on hosts Ghana in a Group A match on Thursday before taking on Mali and Guinea who are also in the Group.

WAFU = West African Football Union. There used to be WAFU competitions for clubs and national teams of West African countries in the 1980s and 1990s, but they became irregular because of lack of funds and political infighting within WAFU.

However, the tournament has returned as part of a 12 year sponsorship deal between WAFU and Fox Sports. It's for home based players and it is being held in Ghana.
