DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

DATE: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2017
TOPIC: DAVID (II)
BIBLE READING: 2 SAMUEL 15:13-18
MEMORISE: Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, "Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin upon us and put the city to the sword. (2 Samuel 15:14)

The Bible contains several profiles of people, with different challenges, and how they reacted in the face of such. Response to situation could be either positive, or negative, depending on our perception of, and disposition to, God's Word, and our behavioural pattern. Believers have a lot to learn from their Master and Saviour on how to handle situations. Jesus' reactions to challenges of life are worthy of emulation. Who do you resemble? When you have decided not to take any action that is also a form of reaction in a way. Remember, You are not better than how you react to circumstances. Today's devotion is a continuation of yesterday's and it examines how David reacted to his challenges. We shall consider a particular one out of the many he faced. When he was told that Absalom, his son, was coming to take over the throne from him: He took the message and deciphered it; it is wrong to leap before you think. You don't have to talk when you are angry. He discovered that God was in it, and he was ready to let Him have his way. What would you do, if you were in his shoes? What can be more foolish than acting out before God. He abdicated the throne. Not many people would do that. To many it is an act of cowardice and weakness. Even a lost battle is still been fought by many people. Don't fight a bad fight. He trusted God for reinstatement, he prayed and planned for it. He wanted peace and not blood shed. Tough time never last, but tough people do.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Give me power and attitude to overcome all my challenges.
2. Believers who are about to crumble under tough and hard experiences Lord give them the fortitude to stand strong for You.
3. Help all Christian leaders who are suffering from conspiracy from the Dathan, Koran kind of church members.
