Northern Traders Close Shops In Umuahia After IPOB, Military Clash by biomustry: 1:43pm On Sep 12
Most shops used by northerners in the city centre of Umuahia were under lock and key yesterday.

Those of them who hawk their products on wheelbarrow where not cited on the major streets of Umuahia either. Even the highly populated Old Owerri Road where the mosque is located in Umuahia was deserted.

Daily Trust gathered that this was in fear of attack by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who were seen in different tricycles and buses moving round major streets from Isi-gate axis to Ubakala in Umuahia South Local Government Area where a military checkpoint is located.

As of the time of this report, no solider was sighted at Ubakala checkpoint. IPOB members had towards the evening taken to the city centre chanting different songs, destroying lock up shops and forcing all other traders to flee, and at of the time of this report, the busy city centre had been deserted and night life in Umuahia paralyzed.

Military presence was felt in the day until about 6pm when most military posts became empty.

The Chairman of Traditional Rulers’ Council, Umuahia North Local Government Area, HRM Eze Philip Ajomuiwe, who spoke on the clash between IPOB members and the military Sunday, advised the Federal Government to rather engage Biafra agitators in dialogue instead of using brute force against them.

They've got nothing to fear for. Eastern region's citizens are not savages like the northerners' kinsmen up north. Were Biafra to be in existence today, the Awusa man would be welcomed to apply for citizenship after a good background check. This is in most part because the average Igboman is forward thinking and has no fear of domination from any one.

Blood sucking demons, they should go back to sambisa Forest where their god shekau is. But the Fulani military told them not to open shop today cos they know they want to start another civil war today.

Caution please! One do not act like a mad man just because a mad man troubles him. We should not forget our civilized way too soon. Ipobs should not act like terrorists just because a terrorist-Buhari is using his army against them. Let us leave innocent northern traders alone to do their normal business. BIAFRA comes with peace. No violence. BIAFRA we hail thee.

exactly they have nothing to fear about.
Igbos dont go about killing people no matter wat the soldiers are doing Igbos wont carry out their anger on Hausas in the region.the only time they should be afraid is wen igbos are being killed in the north.

I have been reading a lot of comments showing acute hatred from hausas and yorubas since today and it pains me how human beings would wish death for people who havent killed anyone. May God return to everybody wat they wish for igbos ten folds.

What this stupid army should know is that IPOB is a mass movement of people and its not only for registered members, time is coming when the army will not see a water to drink.....

Hausa fulani should know that IPOB atleast for now is not violent and so they dont have time for those starving and hustling few hausa fulani , but i believe its their guilty conscience hunting, hurting and chasing them and not IPOB

The Chairman of Traditional Rulers’ Council, Umuahia North Local Government Area, HRM Eze Philip Ajomuiwe

All this Kings with no bloodline in the east. So weak and docile. And they said easterners are republicans.

These guys are the least organized ethnic group in Nigeria. Their ancestral failure to consolidate power is the sole cause of their political insignificance.

I always wondered why the east is so fragmented. And it occurred to me. If they could not have at anytime one ruling house that cut across atleast 1/3 of Ibo land. They never could organize themselves.

Edo conquered far and wide, Nupe far and wide, Yoruba far and wide, Fulani far and wide, Hausa far and wide (even had a warrior princess)
Ijaw, Itshekiri, Calabar. All well organized.

The east has always been a weak but rebellious political group. They can only unite for death and destruction of themselves by themselves.

Remember Bokoharam in the north east. IPOB thinks, the anarchy will go pass the niger bridge. We have six geopolitical zones for times like these, to compartmentalize insurgency, madness and mass delirium

Its obvious that buhari is looking for the slightest reason to shed blood in the east. I wish its only the blood of those that voted for this tribal bigot that will be shed.
Meanwhile,i urge all northerners residing and doing business in the east to go about their business. The east dont shed innocent bloods.

tension rising

Do you know Buhari can post poned Biafra agitation by 20 years if he allows sense to fall on him.

withdraw military from South East,

invite Nnamdi and team for negotiation, after all he negotiated with killing terrorists like Shekau

Deploy resources for infrastural development in the east.

Can sense fall on him? ye. will sense fall on him? No.

Force is the name of the game for him while simpathy for Biafra rises in the global stage

The bold bold lies. Ibos are too religiously intolerant.

They're "muslim this and muslim that" just like the anti-christian North.

Let me explain something here.

This is similar to what happened before the civil war. After Major Kaduna Nzeogwu killed Ahmadu Bello, SL Akintola, Tafawa Balewa and others, he refused to kill Igbo leaders.

The Igbos in the north started taunting the Hausas about the killing of the Sardauna. The next thing that followed was the pogrom which led to the recall of all Igbos in the North.

Eventually, a few million Igbos had to pay for the foolishness of a minority.

50 Years later, Kanu proposed going on to Lagos to taunt the Yorubas and Kaduna to taunt the Hausas. Also, the Hausas have given the Igbos an ultimatum and the Ohaneze has called for a return of all Igbos just like 1967.

The Northerners have closed shop and the soldiers have their boots on ground. I'm having a feeling of dejavu. I'll keep my fingers crossed and my gunpowder dry. Another 3M are about to be harvested again.

If a Northerner posted the same thing about Ibos, you'd find Ibo miscreants crying 'marginalization'.
