For more than seven decades, the FBI has stationed special agents and other personnel overseas to help protect Americans back home by building relationships with principal law enforcement, intelligence, and security services around the globe that help ensure a prompt and continuous exchange of information.

Today, there are 64 legal attaché office and more than a dozen smaller sub-offices in key cities around the globe, providing coverage for more than 200 countries, territories, and islands. Each office is established through mutual agreement with the host country and is situated in the U.S. embassy or consulate in that nation.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation of the US has offices and men stationed in at least Nine African countries through which the entire continent is covered to gather actionable intelligence for the US government.
These offices are in the following African countries
Morocco – Rabat ( Covers Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco & Western Sahara)
Ghana- Accra ( covers Ghana & Togo)
Nigeria - Abuja/Lagos (covers Benin, Chad, Cameroon, Central African Republic & Nigeria)
Senegal- Dakar ( Covers Cape Verde, cote D’Ivoire, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Senegal, Sao Tome and Principe & Sierra Leone
Kenya –Nairobi (covers Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania & Uganda )
Ethiopia – Addis Ababa ( covers Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea & Sudan)
Egypt –Cairo (covers Egypt)
Algeria – Algiers (covers Algeria, Libya, Niger & Tunisia)
