BTW before the cowards cameand caused this mayhem, was there even a protest anywhere in the east? If Police station was burned really, then blame the milliatry. You people live like animals because your politicians treat you like animals, and when anyone decides to open your eyes, you hate that person because you have been psychologically lobotomized.

Igbo's should not overlook the benefit of operation pathon dance. They always offer free medical treatment to everyone.

I am an Igbo guy and I support it 100% my reasons are but not limited to;

(1) the hate and hate speech is now spreading so rapidly that it is now affecting the younger ones. I want them to have the mind of their own.

(2) the instability in the region is now chasing investors away thereby increasing unemployment rate. No investor would like to invest in such area.

(3) the agitation is as a result of total ignorance and greed. Even if you give them everything, they will still ask for more.

(4) it is dragging people away from business because of lost in focus. This people no longer do their normal business. They keep running from one IPOB meetings to another. Chest beating on how they have the capacity to build nuclear weapons, how their BSS is the best in the whole world, how they can burn Nigeria in 24 hours. What a world of fantasy grin.

(5) the Biafra would be the worst country; the division within the Biafra land, the hatred because they have taught themselves how to hate instead of love.

(6) Biafra land is not economically viable. The revenue we generate can not feed two states out of five state we have. They are landlocked, they don't produce enough food that can feed a state out of five. They will import every but with which money

(7) 70% of Igbo don't want Biafra, they don't subscribe to it. They are not prone to deception from Nnamdi KANU. But the 30% that want Biafra are more vocal thereby overshadowing the 70%.

My father once told me that, "it is possible to wake up a sleeping person but impossible to the one pretending to be asleep.
True knowledge is the knowledge of ones own ignorance."

And this is how you hit the nail on the head. This whole Kanu debacle has shown me that ignorance is a disease. We are all Nigerians.

I believe you are very educated, try and weigh options because the way this thing is going, I do not think it will end in our favour.
Gbam!! You hit the nail on the head! cheesy Do you know how long it takes before UN or any other international body intervenes in a country? Even after their intervention, it can take years to reach a negotiated settlement.

And how important is the SE in the scheme of UN's priorities? Have they finished attending to the protracted crises in other parts of the world, that have lingered for several years? When the Liberian crises started years ago, how long did it take for UN to respond? Wasn't it the West African countries that had to raise ECOMOG to quell the war & crises in that country? Where were UN forces, before ECOMOG went in? undecided

Even America that established Liberia, did not send an army contingent into Liberia when the crises started. angry It was almost 2 years after the war started, that ECOMOG went in there to impose a ceasefire. The US preferred to focus on Iraq and get Saddam Hussein out of the way, because their strategic interest in that zone was being threatened by Saddam's antics, remember? shocked

In August 1990, without any prospect for intervention by the United States or the United Nations, ECOMOG arrived in Monrovia to separate the warring factions and to stop the bloodshed.

The West African countries justified their intervention on the grounds that it was no longer an internal conflict since thousands of their own nationals were trapped in Liberia, and tens of thousands of refugees had fled to neighboring countries. The ECOMOG mandate was to impose a cease-fire, help form an interim government and hold elections within 12 months. Unfortunately, with NPFL attacks continuing, there was no peace to keep, and ECOMOG was thrust into combat to push the NPFL out of Monrovia.

There has been much speculation about the ulterior motives of the participating states for intervening in Liberia. Some have accused Nigeria of attempting to support the Doe government, since Doe and Nigeria's President Babangida were allies; others contend that Nigeria was striving to act like the regional superpower that it aspires to be. Others believe that the motivation was a genuine fear of regional destabilization, since dissidents from the Gambia, Ghana and Sierra Leone, most of whom were trained together with the NPFL in Libya, were known to be working with the NPFL.

Still others contend that the intervention was due to the NPFL's treatment of the West African nationals living in Liberia; thousands of Nigerians, Guineans and Ghanaians were effectively held hostage in Monrovia, and hundreds were later killed. Another theory is that the enormous flow of refugees into the neighboring countries compelled them to act.

In any event, none of the participating countries was known for its respect for human rights and democratic principles. As The Washington Post commented in August 1990 when the decision to form ECOMOG was announced, the participating states all had one thing in common: "All are ruled with a strong arm by military or civilian dictators and have little experience with democracy."

Regardless of its motivations, ECOMOG accomplished certain concrete objectives between August and November: it established a semblance of order and peace in the battered city, which allowed international humanitarian groups to return to Liberia; it confined to their barracks the AFL and another rebel group, the Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL), led by Prince Johnson;15 it enabled the Interim Government of National Unity (IGNU), headed by Amos Sawyer, to be installed; and it obtained a cease-fire.

One would be hard-pressed to visit Monrovia without hearing, time and again, "Thank God for ECOMOG." The sentiments of many Monrovia residents were summarized by a Liberian medical worker who said: "ECOMOG was our savior; it was a salvation. ECOMOG saved the population of Monrovia. They avoided fighting, but were pushed into a corner. We feel sorry for them; they have no cause to die here for this stupid, senseless war. https://www.hrw.org/reports/1993/liberia/#2

ECOMOG had already established the ceasefire before the UN eventually stepped into the country, a few years later in 2003. undecided Don't forget that the war started between Sergeant Doe and Charles Taylor, in 1989, o! After ECOWAS brokered a peace agreement in Cotonou, Benin, in 1993, the Security Council established the United Nations Observer Mission in Liberia (UNOMIL). This was followed by the UN peacekeeping mission tagged United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), whose functions covered political, military, police, criminal justice, civil affairs, human rights, gender, child protection, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration, public information and support components, as well as an electoral component in due course. sad

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on True Federalism has tabled twelve issues for talk amid general society hearings on rebuilding planned to begin on Septemeber 18, 2017 in different parts of the nation.

In addition, the advisory group said it will counsel the report of the 2005 Political Reforms Conference, the 2014 National Confab and reports of past national meetings in its task to decide the gathering’s position on rebuilding.

The Secretary of the Committee, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, unfurled the 12-point motivation at a news gathering in Abuja.

I am Igbo and I don't recall IPOD or any of those agitating for Biafra ever seeking or getting my mandate to agitate for secession on my behalf.

The clamour for restructuring doesn't make sense. Nigeria already has 36 states with 36 governors so what more does restructuring entail? Make Federal government so weak that we effectively become 36 small weak nations?

Restructuring is break up via the backdoor , those who remember how the former Soviet Union broke up, will recall, it started with restructuring into a union of semi independent states and over a few years they all broke off from Russia into weak insignificant nations.
Restructuring is staged break up. Nigeria is not working because a set of criminals with their imperialist sponsors restored democracy in 1999 with a criminal constitution.

Let us completely overhaul our constitution
.

I am not Igbo either but the way I see it, IPOB is now more than an Igbo thing.

1.Nobody needs your permission to agitate for a decent existence and failing that,to seek for an alternative arrangement. You may as well start your own group if you are unhappy with IPOB and content with the conditions in Nigeria.

2. The ex Soviet republics are all happy with their independence. What is your point? Have the Ukrainians, Georgians, Armenians, Lithuanians, Estonians and others told you they are unhappy ?

3. The major problems of the country are not with the constitution. For example Buhari, the senile, sick, bigoted president makes appointments to his kinsmen against the articles and spirit of the constitution; there is no passage in the constitution that mandates looting but the governors, ministers, senators et al do so. Is there any support in the Nigerian constitution for the Army murder of Shiites ? Constitution is a minor issue.

Nnamdi Kanu is not perfect but why while we await the perfect man, let us give him kudos for his courage and action.

I am Igbo too and I don't support Operation Python dance.

We never saw an Operation Tiger hunt in the middle belt when the fulanis ran riot in Kogi and Benue.

So what exactly is the need for Python dance in an area that is a lot more peaceful without any breakdown of law and other apart from peeps exercising their freedom of association.

As for the Biafra struggle, I'm not a fan of Nnamdi but I am sympathetic to his cause. Nigeria as a country is very flawed. This is a country that doing things the right way gets you nowhere.

you are beginning to see all the restructure drama which are Knee jerk reactions to Nnamdi and IPOB. Prior to Nnamdi, the elites paid lip service to restructuring. And this macabre dance they are doing at the moment is an act of deception to calm Nnamdi and IPOB down. The moment that happens, they will discard the restructure buzz like it never happened.

I may not be in 100 percent support of Nnamdi's MO but his MO is the only language Nigeria Understands

Why are you talking about Kogi and Benue? Where were you in 2015, when the army launched Operation Awase to flush out militants from the Lagos creeks who were breaking pipelines in the region? They even shelled the area with the help of the Airforce. Did residents of Ikorodu and Arepo hurl stones, bottles and missiles at the army? No. The army came in, conducted their operations and left peacefully. sad

In March 2017, the army conducted Operation Ex Harbin Kunama II specifically in Southern Kaduna, Birnin Gwari, Kyambana Forest and some volatile areas in Plateau State, Lame Burra Forest in Bauchi and Falgore Forest in Kano State. no record of assaults or skirmishes were recorded, to the best of my knowledge. undecided

Operation Lafiya Dole also took place in the North, which entailed massive movement of personnel and military hardware across the region, but nobody confronted the army and told them not to pass a certain area. Why the one in the SE ended in a skirmish is what needs to be investigated. Your IPOB chaps unwittingly turned themselves into combatants by hurling stones, missiles bottles etc, at the army and things escalated from there. undecided

Operation Python Dance is the legitimate thanksgiving service of a 78yrs old president who recently recovered from a life threatening sickness. One would have expected the president to approach this IPOb uprising with a fatherly disposition by reshuffling his cabinet and getting the south east more involved in his govt.I am sure that many IBos voted for him in the last election. When OBJ was president and singing his infamous I DEY KAMPE he never envisaged that GEJ could sideline him when he becomes president.

People like you are the reason Nigeria and Africa can never progress. You see how developed countries do things, instead of emulating them, you do the opposite. Why should secession mean war in Africa? Did Zik and others have to fight a war with Britain before Nigeria got its independence? Why cant you question why Britain can grant Scotland referendum but Africa is still using war where they should use referendum? Why is it that we never see the Army of other countries unless there is war but your Nigerian Army is out extorting money everywhere and commiting human rights abuses? How can you equate properties and investment to freedom? Dont you know that international law protects investments wherever they might be? This cave man reasoning is terrible. If other tribes are not interested in independence, all well and good, let them continue with Nigeria. What is most important for me as an Igbo man is that the Igbo nation becomes independent and manages its self. There is nothing greater than freedom, it is greater than Gold or money, even life.
So keep congratulating Buhari for using brute military force on unarmed defenceless people but know this, Nigeria is on the wrong track heading nowhere

The motion for referendum to decide the question of Scottish independence, was moved by Nicola Sturgeon a Scottish parliamentarian. sad Section 30 of the Scotland Act 1998 in the United Kingdom and Scottish parliaments, gives full legal backing to allow a single question referendum on Scottish independence, to be held before the end of 2014. The order puts beyond doubt that the Scottish parliament, can legislate for the referendum. undecided

Unlike IPOB supporters that want others who have nothing to do with their proposed republic, to dash them referendum, it was the Scottish people that put together the political machinery for it, and executed it. undecided After they had followed due process by doing their homework and groundwork politically, the rest of Britain could now accede to it.

Nice one bro.
But com to think of it, how many European secessionist use hate speeches to achieve referendum? I never heard a scot say "f*k d queen", not to mention any other region within the UK.
The antecedents within Africa has made peaceful, purpose driven agitation almost impossible. Once a group feels sudelined, they yeild to greedy politicians n d rest is war.
And here, we know that most clamor because they lost their grip on power. So, most incumbent will see such moves as manipulations of d opposition, this den cancels out d option of negotiation.
I began to doubt Nnamdi the moment I saw FFK dining n taking selfies with him. Why didn't anyone warn him not to eat with that man?! FFK is a true definition of a self seeker

Bro,' na true word you talk. He that has ears to hear among the IPOBians, let him hear! shocked

they have been having meetings with ipob, they know that an igbo exit without dem spells permanent dolm for them.
Bros, you sabi lie o!! shocked When did these meetings take place, and who were those present there? So you think an average Edo man or Itsekiri would entrust the political destiny of himself and his people into the hands of an Igbo man, or an Igbo-dominated republic? Chai! sad

A call for secession is a call for war!

If you don't know this, then you are among the 30% ignorant folks the OP was talking about.

Has Quebec seceded from Canada?

Has Catalonia seceded from Spain?

Has Scotland seceded from the UK?

Has California seceded from the USA?

You can agitate and many organizations like MASSOB etc have been agitating for years for Biafra. But IPOB isn't agitating. IPOB is campaigning for hatred and vilification of other Nigerians, canvassing for weapons across the globe, setting up illegal radio channels, setting up secret services and lion squads etc etc. IPOB is a death cult and death is its members only fitting destiny!

Chimo! Your post make sense, die!! cheesy I wish I could dash you 1,000 likes for this comment! cool
