Crooked Lines are poems woven out of stories and experiences of heart break, depression, love, lust, desire, anger, hatred, friendships and self discovery.

You are yet to discover yourself and the sugary taste of love.
That is if there is such a thing as love.

You went into the woods,
I hope the branches did not burn.
I heard there is no joy,

Only bears that tear you apart
with depression coated fangs.

The grass was happiness and happy picnics.

But you are allergic and so, you may never know
Happiness.

You should have left
When you perceived the smoke.

You let it go far into your lungs,
Counting his nicotine stained teeth
With your tongue.

He kept you in his laps
As you wished.
Tossed vodka on your breasts
And made love to you
With his fist to your face and
powder on his nose.

He carried you up the stairs,
Sorry hanging off the corner of his lips.

Your heart danced as
He promised to love you
But at sunrise when you opened your eyes
He was gone.

This is you now,
Sad, broke and holding on to the last of him.
