The year 2017 is almost drawing to an end and the Nigerian entertainment industry has experienced growth especially in terms of international acceptance , quality and versatility of artistes . The female artistes in the industry are not joking either and they are making power moves to take their content all over Africa and the world beyond.

Below is a list of five female artistes currently shaking up the nation in 2017 .

Niniola
After winning third runner up on MTN project fame in 2013, Niniola (who is related to Fargin crooner, Teni ) has witnessed a steady rise in her music career . The Afro house singer started the year with the mega smash hit , Maradona in which she details her travails in the hands of her male lover who is actually a player , playing her heart like ‘suwe ’ and dribbling her like the legendary Argentine player. The song has been enjoying massive airplay and currently has over a million views on YouTube . With features like Kini on Legendary Beats’ project and Dj Spinall’ s Ojukokoro, Niniola has made sure she is not to be toyed with in the Nigerian music sphere. Her recent single ‘Sicker ’ also produced by Sarz is enjoying massive airplay and acceptance across Nigeria .

Mz Kiss
The female rapper signed to Clarence Peters ’ Capital Hill Records is pretty much the only consistent female rapper in 2017 . With an impressive verse on Pepenazi ’ s I Aint Got No Time remix , tracks like Fuji and the street accepted, WAWU. Mzkiss has proved to be the only female rapper holding it down in the industry so far in 2017 or at least , the most well - known female emcee giving the male counterparts a run for their money.

Yemi Alade

Since she won the Peak Talent show in 2009 , Yemi Eberechi Alade has never looked back. Yemi Alade has been doing great so far with her music this year. She went on a tour , dropped songs like Charliee , Want You and Knack Am , good videos to songs like Tum Bum and Knack Am and a very successful EP titled Mama Afrique with songs like Nakupenda, Africa and Gucci Feragamo . She has been featured in a new dance video game, got a Grammy invite , became a judge on the Voice Nigeria and her Johnny video currently has over 60 million views on YouTube .

Simi

Since dropping her EP ‘Restless’ in 2014 , Simi has refused to ‘ sin mi’ . With the help of songs like Jamb Question, Open and Close and Love Don’ t Care, The Chemistry project with Falz and features on Falz’ Soldier and Adekunle Gold’ s No Forget , Simi warmed her way up to the hearts of Nigerians. She dropped Smile For Me
and Joromi in 2017 to massive acceptance and airplay. Her second album , Simisola debuted at number five on the billboard World albums chart . The album has been enjoying positive reviews and many have already considered Simisola as the best album In 2017 and a strong contender for album of the year at the Headies and making her one of the hottest female artistes in Nigeria at the moment .

This is simply a list of the few female musicians we have in Nigeria, who really want to make a career or already making a career in Music...
(with Omawunmi,Cynthia Morgan and seyi seyi also mentioned)
This is the complete squad... No more,no less...
If there are others, they must be noise makers or 'also ran'...
