Even Seminarians garb as masquerades during some of their events, that is inculturation. Can't forget someone saying he is suspecting a Priest because the Reverend Father was wearing ishiagu over his soutane, beads on his wrists and neck while playing the Igbo wooden flute, Oja,

The previous Rev is nothing but a glutton who don't preach the true gospel.

If he does, these villagers wouldn't have the gut to bring masquerades to a holy event. Well, Catholic Churches always have a comma.

It is not the kind of masquerade you think. This is a harmless, non-fetish masquerade that is used for entertainment.

A masquerade is a representation and display of the cultural richness of the people; it’s very unfortunate that we have associated it with the devil!
The “oyinbo” people that enslaved us (sold your fore-fathers) for a bottle of gin are the same ones that brought you all religion. They are the same ones that are marveled by the richness of our various culture and are adopting it gradually.
It’s very unfortunate that we have seen all our culture as forms of idol worship!
Some traditionalists live a more godly life that some so called men of God.. Please let us wake the hell up; didn’t even see the masquerade inside the church receiving communion.
