Mysterious girl causes ghastly accident
One dead, several injured

A ghastly motor accident involving a Mercedes saloon car and an ENTRACO station wagon carrying passengers from Anambra enroute Enugu has just occurred at Nachi, Enugu State, leaving the sole occupant of the Mercedes Benz in critical condition while the passengers of the commercial vehicle sustained varying degrees of injury.

According to eye witness, the saloon car was on top speed from Enugu when it encountered a little girl. "It was as he left his lane in his attempt to avoid hitting the girl that the commercial bus, also on top speed, collided head on with him."

The eye witness said the girl who fell and sustained some bruises on the head was rushed to the clinic while passers-by, some occupants of the commercial bus and good samaritans living close to the scene of the incident frantically broke through the car with axe and cutlass in order to recover the body of the Mercedes Benz driver, who was stuck in the car.

This was as some policemen who also came to the scene of the accident stopped to help control the heavy traffic caused by the accident.

As at the time of report, efforts are still being made to resuscitate the man although it seems all hope is lost.
