Ok. It's time for African boogie.

Words can't describe how wonderful this song is. You need to listen to it yourself.

You sleeping because you don't know good music, so you can't understand it.

If Dr Hook makes you a connoisseur of fine music then I think will stick to my own brand of music. I don't trust your judgement embarassed

That's what I'm saying. It's not just my judgement. That song got to number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US, it was number 1 in the UK for three weeks, it was played over and over on Radio Nigeria 2 and NTA 2 Channel 5 and it got to the top of the charts in several other countries. It has also been covered by numerous acts and it's on the soundtracks of several movies and videogames. You don't know good music. grin

Darling, i've head several billboard hits and I am puzzled how this one managed to make it. Seriously, it makes me doubt people's judgement.

grin You still haven't understood. There's an old saying that if it appears to you that everybody else is mad and you are the only sane one, then you need to check yourself. You don't know good music. grin

Someone used that song as his theme song on RN2. I think it was Willy Brunch, but I'm not sure.

Not twinges, dear. Buffets!

Many times when watching and listening to old movies and songs, I feel this deep yearning and nostalgia that can't be explained

Don't even use this line of argument because it won't wash.

'Oliver twist' was a massive hit when it was first released, 'Banana fall on you' is making waves, and Idris Abdulkareem was once one of Nigeria's 'top rappers'. Now will you say Nigerians are 'insane'? cheesy

Bia! Ishilove and naptu2, you people want to make me go all emotional this night? 'I wee not allow it' let me just go back to listening to Dan Foster on Classic FM.
Talking about Dan Foster, that guy has got the best selection of songs of all OAPs in Nigeria. Iyke d gee is another OAP that gives me goosebumps when he was at Cool FM. He was at Magic FM Aba the last time I checked, I don't know where he is now.

1) What's wrong with Oliver Twist?

2) Eedris was never one of Nigeria's top rappers. He achieved success as part of the group Remedies (and people criticised his style when he was with Remedies) and he didn't achieve much success when he went solo (apart from Mr Lecturer which was appreciated for its theme, rather than his prowess at rapping).

I have committed a cardinal sin! How can I do a thread about disco music and omit these three acts? I must correct that error immediately.
