Tesla's given us a glimpse of its latest Model 3, and it's packed with slick improvements. The sensational ride handles itself quite well on all types of terrain. The interior matches Tesla's exceptional style.

Tesla has reportedly fired hundreds of employees amid signs that the company is off to a slow start in manufacturing its crucial Model 3 electric car.


The Palo Alto, Calif.-based automaker and tech company dismissed several hundred workers, according to multiple reports, including an initial story by the Mercury News. Reuters also reported the news.

The dismissals occurred after what Tesla described as "an annual performance review" of its more than 33,000 employees. The company did not provide specifics.

But the firings reportedly included engineers, managers, salespeople and factory employees.

The move comes as Tesla is aiming to rapidly expand production of its new mass-market Model 3. CEO Elon Musk had said the company would be making 5,000 cars per week by the end of the year, but that goal appears to be in jeopardy amid early stumbles.



It was not clear whether any of the firings were connected to the manufacturing problems.

Musk acknowledged on Oct. 6 that the company was facing "bottlenecks" in Model 3 production. He said Tesla was "diverting resources" to clear up the Model 3 production challenges, which was one factor in the company's decision to delay its reveal of an electric semi-truck by about three weeks.

The company said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Oct. 2 that "a handful" of its "manufacturing subsystems" have "taken longer to activate than expected.

Oil has come to stay. It is really going to be difficult phasing out combustion engines - Diesel and Petrol.

You should also see a strategy of weakening oil exporting nations behind it.

Africa remains one of the highest consumer of new automobiles around the world. Having support for a Tesla car will be very difficult in Africa.

What about if OPEC countries also make rules not to buy electric cars? You think that's impossible?

At least in the next 30 years. I don't see it gaining enough weight.

** I am not supporting Nigeria not diversifying her economy though.

As an Engineer The rocket crash don't mean jack ,it's all part of the learning curve ,I say this because you "can't make an omelette without cracking a few eggs "
Remember SpaceX doing what no one has been able to do. Landing a rocket for reuse on top of a barge floundering in a roiling sea is no joke !
even NASA with all its resources couldn't do it, Elon is a visionary of messianic proportions, my fear is that he's over stretching himself (too many fingers in too many pies) from plans to supply an alternative power system to Australia and Puerto Rico hurricane disaster to the hyperloop concept this guy rocks. His team is crazy hot headed techmen. Every organisation goes through challenges and setbacks, the trick is how do you rebound, how do you get back on track and this young man seems to have mastered the this trick weeeeeella
This doesn't mean he's above failure. But it indicates that this young man is single handedly changing the way we live life and interact with the world.
I love these types of people who have made massive amounts of money and aren't afraid to risk it all to leave a magnificent legacy behind.

My brother let's not deceive ourselves. Oil is dead! Okay that's not right. oil is on life support.
China produces more solar power than everything in the Nigerian National electric grid.
This same China has announced its interest to cease production of Internal combustion engines.
Who is OPEC to decide? They will fall in line once they come to the realisation that they are an expired force.
I will end by quoting the great Russian Chemist Dmitry Mendeleev. Who said that " burning oil products to produce energy is like trying to cook by burning bank notes in your oven

Can you tell me bubu motive and why do you think dangote is busy pouring billions in constructing a very large refinary in Lagos? Oil may be loosing some ground but we still have along way to go before we finally place the lid on the use of fossil fuel.

OPEC is exporting not importing! if they make rules not to buy electric cars, who will they sell their Oil to. The days of oil are gone. Time and Chance happeneth in this life. Oil is gone. With solar, wind and now electric cars. Oil days are numbered!

Change is inevitable in life.

There was a time in the history of the world where:

1. Servants carried people on their shoulders
2. Horses became the major source of transportation
3. Attaching a cart to the horse was just so brilliant for transportation
4. Steam engine was considered great
5. Diesel engine looked cool
6. Petrol engine cars was known for its speed;

But now

The world will laugh at you when they see;
7. Servants carrying you on shoulders or using rickshaws
8. You travelling on horse and cart
9. Driving a steam engine..

With the successes recorded by Tesla

Using a petrol engine will be considered old fashioned even though it delivers good speed. It will just be like using a raster-Grundig-Thermionic-valve-TV in the O-LED-FLATSCREEN age.
