omenka:Corruption is truly killing us just as systemic structure. You would recall this particular structure was forced on the country by Northern military soldiers who thought it would work best for us. The oil in the Delta is largely responsible for this. In a sane society, Northern states with no oil have no business with oil funds. A structural government devoid of hidden agenda, should be in place to allow each region grow at their own pace and a part contribution to the centre. That way, every state and region would take pride in what they have and face it diligently. Corruption came to full glare the moment oil surfaced in Nigeria. |

Is there a beacon of hope in Southern Nigeria to become an opposing force, a collective one against the degradation of the human person which is the current trend in Nigeria ? The problem is not that the politicians are unaware of the ineffectiveness of the present system of things, they certainly know, but the seeming addiction of our Nigerian minds to war-time approach in our lifestyles has by default activated the flight-fight mechanism in nearly all the people of the country and that is why there are mental health issues in almost all homes of middle-class and lower-class. The surprising thing is ? People do not even know they have mental health issues, it is almost impossible for a mental health victim to know he/she has such issues. That is a natural amnesia. I am personally thankful to Ambode, atleast his mind-pattern fits that of a person untouched by tribalism, nepotism, and mental degradation unlike all his colleagues in the whole country. I believe this is his idea. I believe he made the first call. If all of Southern Nigerians unite, as much as the Northern Nigerians unite. These political thieves who loot our country would have been eliminated and North and South can part ways in peace or if that is a painful divorce, then we can begin to talk about how to live together 'on our resources, each of our abilities and capabilities and potentials', and pay a management commission to Abuja, who does nothing, owns nothing but controls all the States, Local Governments and their resources without contributing anything to the table. Abuja has contributed nothing to this country. When we unite, our enemies will tremble. 2 Likes 3 Shares |
