Threadstarter, yes you can have your console chipped but don't bother trying to hook it up to the internet after doing so.

Set your xbox horizontally on the floor not vertically. The only risk of scratching is when the console is vertical.

If i'm not mistaken, modifying your console isnt actually illegal(be it in Nigeria or the US), it only voids your warranty.

Go to Alaba International market, Lagos and chip for N5000. I did that and now all I do is download any game I want and burn on a double-layer DVD. Works well. I have over 30 games.

its not even chipping, as in there's no hardware added to mod it. they simply flash the dvd firmware so it can play backup dvds. can even do it yourself. check here: www.ixtreme.net

i swore i'll never chip my xbox360 cuz of what i experienced with the ps2, you buy 10cds and only 4 work. the other will probably stop some where along the game. very painful, but i can't afford to pay 10k for every cd i buy. best thing is to have 2 consoles. chip one for regular gaming and leave the other for onliine gaming.

I use an elite and I flashed it for 5k. I basically download games, buy a dual-layer dvd for N200 and burn on my laptop.

Google XBOX 360 RGH. i can do that for you at a resonable price. you wont be able to go on xbox live anymore though.
