Don't mind the illiterates here feeling happy, they think Spain will just allow Catalonia to go and they can have a case.
Ordinary world politics, dem can't fit understand.
Thanks for your submission
continue running your mouth upandan. Spain has no choice cos this is Europe. Suspending catalan autonomy amount suspending people's will and that's a declaration of war. Aside the fact that it could earn catalonia some international support, it will rally anti independence catalans towards independence, making future unity even more difficult.

Hope no consequences.
There will surely be consequences, the Spanish Senate has just approved the request from the central government to take over Catalonia's regional government and strip the region of it autonomy.

They definitely won't be joining the EU and I don't expect any major European nations to support them, some unpleasant realities ahead. Congrats though

Because the issue of separation is not just a problem for Spain. It far transcends Catalonia. The UK for instance, has had to deal with issues of secession from Northern Ireland, Wales, and now Scotland. Germany has her own with Bavaria. France has some struggles with Corsica and Brittany, while Flanders and Wallonia are threatening to pull Belgium apart. Italy nkor? She's facing or has faced same issues with Sicily, Lombardy, Veneto, and South Tyrol regions. Denmark has the same problems, as does Poland, Romania, Crotia and Czech Republic. The bureaucratic elites are all fighting the same struggles. So they understand where it pinches. Nothing brings two people together like a common struggle. They'd rather collude and deal with Catalonia than side with her.

About an hour ago, Donald Tusk announced on twitter that Spain is the EU's only interlocutor. So, which of the parties do you think they'd support?

This is what those IPOB members who shout "right to self determination" don't know. Any country that openly supports secession, will disintegrate under 5 years.

Spain can't force them back.

Catalonia has a rich language, culture and history and her people has profoundly expressed their right to self determination, forcing them back into spain would amount to modern use of force, and forceful slavery against a people's wish.

That would be unacceptable. The international body should please Recognise Catalonia's wish.
I want to know why Palestine and Biafra can't be established as independent state.

The Liga president already said they want Barca to remain.
The LA liga president never mentioned such thing, it was barca president who did. and He must have said that to douse tension.

The last statement from LA liga president was that barca won't remain the league if Catalonia had their independence.

Be careful what you post!

Serious.

Is there going to be a second Spanish Civil War? Or will Madrid respect the wish of the Catalans?

I blame the Spanish prime minister, Rajoy, for this, the Catalans even suspended it and was wishing for a discussion, but he was busy forming macho man. now its too late, its either they go into battle , waste precious lives of soldiers and civilians, destroy properties, have economic setback and then finally they will go into round table talk which they earlier avoided. rubbish

lucky dube sang... leaders go to war anytime they like ; some for their rights, some for fun, for their own glory, making people die for the wrongs that they do... oh its painful

stupid Rajoy Mariano... he is just itching for war ' because no be him go die' I tire for some human

necessary to maintain the status quo.

You live in a dreamland. Global geopolitics is more complicated than
a bunch of people declaring an independence.
No country will recognize them, maybe North Korea would.
The world doesn't work on the "wish of the people", that is just an ideal for suckers.
It works based on practicalities and POWER.

Declaring independence isn't the problem but who will recognize them? The only way this independence will work is only if they will be all alone. EU have already said that they can't recognize them, UK is too scared to recognize them because They have Scotland at their backyard waiting patiently to strike. USA has done the same thing too. The only organisation and association that will recognize them easily is FIFA.Spain will fight tooth and nail not to allow them go easily. I just hope it won't result to a bloody conflict.

Very intelligent submission.
I have stated that apart from North Korea(which is very doubtful),
no other country will recognize them.
Catalan is still Spain!

A number of them were later interviewed and they expressed hopes Biafra would be free too, check online and cause yourself heart failure. So knock you blockhead, they are already there developing

You biafra apologists reason with emotions.

Your SE leaders blacklisted IPOB and banned it's activities, as well as pledging unity to Nigeria, in Catalonia, their leaders conducted a refeewnduw, and passed a bill of independence in their parliament. Can't you see the difference.

Gosh!! You guys will keep waiting, better transform IPOB into a political secessionist party that will win all SE state houses of Assembly and governorship, then from there, conduct your referendum.

the self determination will be voted by the easterners themselves not the hungry eze nigbos and south eastern leaders who are only looking for favor from the Nigerian government...itz called hearing frm the horses mouth and not frm the horses ass

Bro, I'm a barca fan through and through. I follow these events as they develop. You may not know about this, but I'd expect that you do some digging rather than challenge my assertions blindly.

I am a bit busy now, otherwise I would have looked up some links for you. He did mention it sometime in August or September.

Well, other than the fact that this would be a landmark feat and invariably influence agitation for Biafra's secession, the main thing that I'm sure everyone would be wondering is what happens to Football Club de Barcelona.

Every country has one secession group or the other.
Supporting Catalonia to seceed might trigger all these groups.
Didn't you noticed that none of these countries condemned the way the Spanish police were brutalizing the Catalans on that referendums day?
The only thing they said was that it is Spanish government internal matter, that they don't have anything to say about it.
dont expect to see every thing in the media bro, queen eliza didnt make any public pronouncement about london terror attack doesnt mean she doesnt condemn it.
