Apple new flagship iPhone X makes the company more money per phone than its iPhone 8 model, according to an analysis, which found the iPhone X's flashier parts cost Apple 25 percent more than the iPhone 8, but that it retailed 43 percent higher.

The iPhone X smartphone costs $357.50 to make and sells for $999, giving it a gross margin of 64 percent, according to Tech Insights, a firm that tears down technology devices and analyzes the parts inside.

It pains me so much to realise that many countries will make massive profit and provide employment for their people from this new iphone but Nigeria won't. All the parts are made by different companies in different countries round the world. Some parts of these iphones come from south korea,china,india,japan,canada,America and other places! No country manufactures a product 100%. Many countries put themselves in the products-parts-supply chain and make profits from every apple product sold round the world. The same thing happens in the automobile and other industries globally. Nigeria must place herself in these products-parts-supply chains if we want to move away from oil economy.

Calculate how much Samsung uses to produce 1 piece of S8.

Give us the cost price.

Don't add shipping for the parts, adverts, Research and Development, Branding etc.

As much as I hate the Apple enterprise, I think it would be fair to point out that for every unit of the iPhone X sold, Samsung would get $110 because the latter made the OLED display, NAND flash, and DRAM chips in the iPhone.

Not forgetting, tax, ads across platforms, staff salaries, distribution to various countries among a host of other things.

How much on research, tax, etc? Manufacturing is more than that please.

Samsung and Apple inc. spend as much as 10 billion US dollars on R & D (research and development) yearly. Or you the technology was revealed to them in a vision of the night?
