Plase i need help how to get a database management system for a hospital, any help will be apreciated

To help, I will need answers to the following:

Where are you and the hospital located?

Are you require to you Access for the program?

Is there a program already in use in the hospital?

Is this a requirement by the management of the hospital?

Are you expected to make the program yourself?


Answers to these questions will determine if you should go ahead.

The RDBMS you would use for a hospital is dependent on kind of information the hospital wants to keep, the size of the hospital, average volume of data per day on her legacy system or estimated data volume among other questions. You would definitely need expert advice so that the medical package would not run into problem in the course of implementation due to limited knowledge of system designer(s). I wish you good luck.

Access can do the job. Access though has a limitation as regards the number of persons that can log into a database at a time. However, this can be creatively handled. Your requirement is robust. Lily Hospital in Warri uses a database with the above features.

what you need is to develop a client/server software employing a relational database management system like Oracle or Microsoft Sql Server as the backend. The system has to be networked base (i.e different users must be able to logo unto it concurrently).

From your requirement, the application will be a robust one (very good initiative). I suggest a robust web application riding on an SQL SERVER database. with integration of the application to a Payment Gateway (InterSwitch WEBPAY) for the Payroll.
