Following successful challenge of his unwarranted suspension in the court of law, the Nigeria Senate has recalled its former leader, Mohammed Ali Ndume. He is expected to resume in plenary tomorrow.

Some Senators have disagreed with the chamber’s counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) for proceeding on appeal against the High Court judgment that declared Ndume’s suspension illegal without the resolution of members.

Ozekhome has filed a notice of appeal against Friday’s judgment of Justice Babatunde Quadri of the Federal High Court, Abuja which declared Ndume’s suspension as illegal, null and void. The appellants are Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Samuel Anyanwu.

A ranking Senator who begged anonymity said;

“So far, we have not agreed at the Executive Session to go to the Court of Appeal on this matter. We are all war wearied, we want peace now, we are tired of any row among us. “Even the High Court refused to award cost in the spirit of engendering peace and harmony in the Senate. We will prefer to broker peace between the Senate President and Ndume.”

Another Senator from the South-East said:

“I think our counsel was only acting on the basis of law but we will rather proffer political solution to the judgment of the High Court. It is not every time you go to court.”

This our present occupants of the National Assembly called Sinators and Honourabulls are bunch of criminals. There is no nothing honourable about them atall. How can a member of the senate notice an headline on the pages of newspaper, brings it to the Senate floor and you charge him for misconducts.
The mumu committee even recommended a 1 year suspension but for their leader that brought it down to 6 months. Jibrin is suffering the same fate in the house of reps. I weep for the kind of leaders that we voted for. I hope we wouldn't make the same mistake come 2019.

Foolish people. Let the case go to the Appeal Court, and in fact, let it go all the way to the Supreme Court so we can have a pronouncement on this illegality. How can you suspend a whole region from the senate for 6 months? That means they will have no representation in the senate for that period. Buhari should have learnt from the history books how Obj dealt with any senate president that misbehaved.

Let's be sincere jibril has no root or origin in strong politics,his family is nothing ...he talks too much ,immatures and not loyal...he used kids that are from influential home to get to the top then turned his back on them ....worst of all he himself was corrupt and yet when they decided to throw him under the bus ,he shouted blue murder
Come 2019 I doubt kano will allow him .......a lot of senators didn't even use to talk to him before the budget padding saga then when he had issue he now knew how to approach him abi?
Jibril is on his own he can only make noise but at end dogara is still on sit ,nothing has been done and he is still on suspension.

Lol...

The Senate suspended Ndume over his call to investigate the allegations made against the Senate President.

I expect them to suspend the senator making defamatory comments against the IGP.
