If you put one of those dead heads on one West African country's (most populous black nation) president, the dead head will function better than the head presently hanging on the neck of the brainless president.. cheesy grin

there's no code that we're going to crack death is the most natural thing in existence it is an experience that shall happening to every living being.

The dead will come back to life?

Yoruba Muslims what do you have to say About this development, grin
where in d article is it written, dat d dead comes back to life?, d head transplant carried out on d corpse was a test, d next is on a living human, which most agree will end in a disaster, with the high possibility of the head rejecting the new body, ending in death, or d highest level of insanity and pain leading to death

I find this statement funny. Mankind has been seeking immortality and I believe is just a matter of time before we cracked the "code". Our generation, however, would miss out on that grin

I think that code would be digitizing our consciousness. The concept of immortality for the human body is flawed. The body can't live forever for the same reason that machines can't run forever. The human consciousness however appears not to have the same limitations.

An ideal situation would be that when people grow old, they can opt to become digitized when they are about to die. Following which they can exist in a network (say the cloud, or the internet, or some VR plane--essentially living in a preferred "heaven" for lack of a better term). Or, a less ethical solution would be to clone one's own body, keep in it stasis until one gets old, and then have your consciousness grafted into the clone. It'd be like becoming a younger version of yourself. This is unethical because clones could and should have rights as their personalities differ from those of their parent.

A workaround would be a full-fledged cyborg. I'm willing to wager that by the time we possess the technology to digitize consciousness, we would have advanced mapping of the human body. That way we could 3d print or just grow body parts (we already have a rudimentary form of this technology already, going by at least a paper I read in 2013) on a compatible substrate designed as a skeleton. The body "created" would have a digital interface into which one's consciousness is uploaded.

Sounds like a lot of sci-fi. But the future is pregnant with many advancements, it seems I may actually go the cryonics route when this body eventually begins to fail me (well here's to hoping there's significant improvements in cryonics development to make it worthwhile then, right now it just sounds like a crazy experiement).

.
And you call it successful? Transplanting done on already dead man. It cannot be said to be a successful transplant until it is done on a living person without that man dying.

Since it's possible to reconnect spines that is detached from the body..
I think they should focus more on people with broken spines.
And save the hours for head transplant for the faulty spinal cord victims.
Who's ready for a head transplant
Hell no.
