Just note what your receiver does. Upgrade, and then note the changes. No need for any explanation. Your software is just too outdated. You will see the changes yourself without us entering any 'Lecture Room'. There are certainly updates for your receiver.

@pidzo I just bought a new 4930 hd decoder.which software version is best to put in it.i want to maximise it's fuction.tanx

There is the latest version 126p but other gurus seem to have found problems with it which I am yet to verify on other satellites. Right now download SRT4930MyTV_ALL_109p_20120402.zip and use it. You will get all the present benefits. WHat's the model of the decoder..we need to know the name of the decoder and its version... eg for strong, we have srt 4653, 4669 and so on !!!

The difference between 4653X and 4669X is not only a software issue but also a hardware one. You basically cannot do what you are trying to do.

Do not fry your box your self. As u can see yourself, the two receiver are of diffrent model and patch.
Whenever u intend to upgrade ur box. Make sure it is of the same model. E.g 4669x box should be upgraded with 4669x firmware. Beside, the hardware are a bit diffrent. Mpeg 2 firmware can't work with mpeg 4 box. vise versal. Take note. Always b careful with upgrading ur box

I once tried to use a card reader for this but my receiver did not recognise the reader. May be its the model of the reader. Try it and see what happens may be it might work for you.

Some card reader works fine with 4669xII and not all. Your best bet is flash drive.

Format your memory card using FAT32 and try again. Even USB flash that isn't formatted on FAT32 refused to work on my 4930 box

The problems were minor ie in some instances it was repeating some tps.
