Do you know that in 100 years to come, only a very little population of Igbos leaving in the SE will be able to speak Igbo language. There will be a great number of igbos in the south west probably referred to as Yoruba-ibo. They'll have nothing to do with the south east is they'll be comfortable being Yoruba's.

Ibo is in trouble and at risk of loosing their homeland as it is....100yrs is too far. They need to tidy up quick quick or get evicted from SE. We will push them out of that land and back to their roots in bantuland. Serious!

They are losing their language gradually..

If we told them now.
Theyll say we shouldn't teach them what to do

Do you know that it is difficult to find a call center agent who is fluent in speaking igbo? But you'll find igbos in a call center attending to Hausa or Yoruba callers/ customers.
The Yoruba's are greatly accommodating the igbos in Lagos, OGUN, Oyo and Ekiti. So many Igbos are farmers in Ekiti and OGUN state talk less of traders and they can even write/read in Yoruba but can't read an Igbo Bible.

There's a rapid connection going on. I've seen Igbo agbero well known and respected in Lagos among the road transport workers NURTW.
It is clearly happening.

We already domesticated Ibo, like the dog, Ibo is Yorubaman's best friend.

OP you're talking out of ignorance.
Igbos and Igbo language have survived for many thousands of years, what now makes you think that that Igbo language will go extinct all of a sudden?
You really need to study the Igbos.
Igbos are one of the most adaptable people on earth.
Igbos can perfectly live and survive in any place while not forgetting their home towns.
It's in their gene. It's in their culture.
An Igbo man may live abroad for several years but almost always makes sure he builds a house in his home town.
They usually have this Igbo association anywhere on earth that Igbos are.
Go to SE and observe what happens every Sunday.
Have you not heard of August meeting in Igbo land?
What do you think it's for?
Don't just categorically state things without
proper knowledge.

He is talking about extinction of Igbo language and culture, you are talking about association? I wonder why you see a genuine concern as being negative.

I remember, there used to be Igbo speaking movies in those days. What happen to these movies now?. Look at Yoruba movies, becoming even more loved and relevant in the home videos compare to even the English Nollywood dominated by Igbos?

Just thinking out loud?

Abraham! Are you in Nigeria at all?
How could you say that there are no more Igbo titled movies these days?
Have you not heard of the award winning Igbo-titled movies 'Nkoli Nwa nsukka' or 'Ada Mbanno' to mention a few?
What do you think the DSTV African Magic dedicated to Igbo movies airs?
By the way, the OP said extinction of the Igbos, not just Igbo language or Culture.
Culture is dynamic; very few people will claim they've maintained their culture without influence from others for even as little as 50 years. I tell you the Igbo culture and tradition is not different.
What is important is to keep the useful ones in line with development and progress, borrow some from other people, and do away with the obsolete ones.
