The landscape of the Nigerian music industry is evolving. The age of strictly commercial - read kpangolo - music is slowly coming to an end.

This change in the type and style of music favored by the "industry," is also, simultaneously, giving rise to a new school of Nigerian artistes. Young, talented, adventurous and experimental with their approach to music creation, these artists aren't really concerned about making music for the mainstream. Rather, they are more concerned about creating music that resonates with their creative ideals and passions. These New School Of Nigerian Musicians, mostly independent creatives, are building a strong underground cult following, utilizing various platforms, and, expected they remain consistent with their craft, it is only a matter of time before they eventually take over the Nigerian Music Industry.

With all that said, I present to you, 10 of these group of Nigerian New School musicians that you need to know and familiarize yourself with their music.
