#UnityWeek: Birth Anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (sa)

In order to bridge the difference of Sunni and Shia Islam and use it as an opportunity to unite the ranks of Muslims, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Imam Khomeini (qs) designated the period of Birth Anniversary celebrations of Prophet Muhammad (sa) from 12th to the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal as the Islamic Unity Week.

Every year the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky organize multiple programs to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of the Prophet (sa) in more than 50 towns and cities across Nigeria. The celebrations starts every year with colorful match procession by Shia and Sunni children in major Nigerian cities.

IMN also invite our Christian brothers and sisters to the Milad-Ul-Naby celebrations. IMN is the only Muslim group in Nigeria that invite Christians to its programs and activities to foster tolerance, mutual understanding, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.

All Muslims believed in the Prophethood and Messengership of Prophet Muhammad (sa), he is the common denominator of all Muslims therefore his Birth Anniversary should serve a unity platform for all Muslims. God sent Prophet Muhammad (sa) as a mercy to mankind. It is important that the qualities pillars of Islam of mercy, compassion, love and tolerance be expounded during such great occasion.

Today Islam and Muslims face numerous challenges and threats and the most serious threat is the evil antics of Western imperialism and Global Zionism that desperately want to dominate Muslims, loot their resources and trigger a bloody sectarian Shia Vs Sunni war. It is not by accident but by design that the genocidal West is allied to the intolerant and bloodthirsty Wahhabi savages and the Saudi Wahhabi regime. Whenever the genocidal European savages needed bloodthirsty terrorists to kill innocent Muslims, rape Muslim women and girls and destroy Muslim towns and cities, the savage Saudi Wahhabi regime supply them.

Today economic, scientific and technological backwardness is associated with Muslims. It is important for Muslim leaders to overcome these challenges. The genocide of oppressed Palestinian Muslims and Christians continue by the bloodthirsty Zionist savages in occupied Palestine. The inhuman and barbaric #RohingyahGenocide in Myanmar is on where the Burmese army rape Muslim women and girls and slaughter innocent Muslims at will. We should use the Birth Anniversary of the Prophet (sa) to highlight these problems and proffer solutions to them.

The US President Donald Trump recently retweets three videos of anti-Islam hate to spread Islamophobia that threatens the lives of millions of Muslims in the West. In the past, leaders of the West hypocritically hide behind the cover of freedom, democracy and Human Rights to harm Muslims but the present US President Trump has brought everything to the open. Western Imperialism and Global Zionism created murderous Wahhabi terrorist groups using the Saudi regime as intermediary then accused Islam and Muslims of creating these murderous terrorist groups. It is not accidental that more than 90% of all the victims of murderous Wahhabi terrorism are innocent Muslims.

The #UnityWeek2017 comes at a time when the US-sponsored #ISIS are defeated in the Middle East. This call for Muslim world wide celebrations. The wicked enemies of Islam created ISIS to destroy Muslim countries that will facilitate them to occupy Muslim countries and loot resources.

On a final note, we pray for peace, progress and development to all Muslim countries and societies on the great occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (sa). We say to the wicked mass murderer Nigerian tyrant Buhari #FreeZakzaky and his wife from 23 months illegal detention incommunicado.
