A twitter user with the username, @Virus_pluto, alleges that Nigerian traffickers sell girls for as high as $5000

- Another twitter user, @maDube_, calls on African leaders to intervene and stop the illegal slave trade in Libya

- Godwin Obaseki, Edo state governor, demands for support of other countries in other to reintegrate victims of human trafficking from the state

Some persons on social media have alleged that Nigerians are now selling their own people as slaves to rebels in Libya.

A twitter user with the username, @Virus_pluto, in a series of tweets said a Nigerian who returned from Libya recounted how he was sold by a fellow Nigerian who promised to take him to Europe.

@Virus_pluto alleged that Nigerian traffickers sell girls for as high as $5000. He said younger girls are more expensive.

He stated that guys are sold for $300 - $500 depending on the age.

Meanwhile, Godwin Obaseki, Edo state governor has called for support of other countries in other to reintegrate victims of human trafficking from the state.

He urged them to support Edo state to sustain the anti human trafficking structures on ground in the state. Specifically, he called for support in reintegrating victims of human trafficking into the society.

Obaseki made the call on Wednesday, November 22, in Italy while speaking at the International Conference on Women Empowerment and the Fight Against Trafficking in Persons: Partnership Between Nigeria and Italy, organised by the President of Italian Chamber of Deputies, Ms Laura Boldrini

The maths doesn't work, if they sell the people for as much as $5,000, how does the Libyan profit from that, seeing as they're selling people for as low as $250.

This is obviously a lie, probably being spread by an Arab, in order to deflect and spread blame - a common trait they like to deploy, while lambasting white people for being racist.
