She said the Foundation had partnered with the college on many fronts to explore areas of cooperation and assistance, including the training of the Foundation’s staff, widows and orphans, just as some of staff of the college who are widows have also benefitted from the foundation’s programme for widows.

She commended the institution’s outgoing Rector, Dr. Margaret Kudirat Ladipo, for showing the world through her innovative steps that resulted in improved quality of education that women are capable and worthy of leadership positions.

Alakija said women must be given opportunities to prove themselves and make waves in society, noting that it was no longer fashionable to relegate women to the background, adding: “Those doors must be open for women to put in their quotas to assist the male folks and ensure that the economy, education, and human beings are able to live in a better world.”
