Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi (Honourable Minister Of Transportation) and the former governor of Rivers State, speaking at the 10th year supreme court judgement thanksgiving at Abundant Life Evangel Mission (ALEM) Portharcourt, had said that it is time for the youths to rise and occupy elective positions in the State government.

Amaechi, after expressing gratitude to God Almighty for seeing him through his political journeys thus far and for finding him worthy to occupy a colossal political space in the national politics, he went back memories to state how he indulged in active politics as a youth at 26years and how he had a stake in the Rivers politics as a youth to make commissioner nominees which brought Omehia and Sen. Abe into government as commissioners.

He further encouraged the youths to participate in elections as electable positions are vacant for them due to the vacancy created by those who has left the party.

He said: ” Youths this is your opportunity, they have left the seat, it is vacant”

Amaechi made the youths to understand that when vacancy is created in government, it needs to be occupied.

He gave them a sense of belonging in the forth coming state election, as they will be allowed to run elections.
