Fuel scarcity has continued unabated in Rivers State, especially in the state capital, Port Harcourt.

DAILY POST reports that many filling stations hoard their products in the day but dispense at exorbitant prices at night.

Meanwhile, in a crackdown to check the situation, the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has sealed off about twenty filling stations in one week.

The affected private filling stations were accused of various offences, including selling products above the government approved pump price, under delivery of products and diversion of products.

Zonal Operations Controller Downstream DPR Port Harcourt, Ibani Frank-Briggs said the affected filling stations will be sanctioned in line with the petroleum laws.

Frank-Briggs assured that the team will continue the monitoring of filling stations in Rivers State even during the festivities period.

“Our officials were out to inspect what filling stations are doing to Nigerians. I can tell you that are product but they keep doing this deliberately to hurt our people.

“We have sealed off almost 20 filling stations in different parts of Port Harcourt for violating our regulation.

“We will continue with this exercise until we achieve results.

“I can assure that all erring filling stations will pay for their crimes,” he said.

Sealing 20 filling stations is worsening the already bad situation. Supply them with the products and they will commence normal sales. Dpr are not serious or honest.

Liars

They will pick up the station manager and take him away. He will pay fine and pay them their own and then return back with a vengeance.

Where he sold 225 per litre before he was taken he will now sell 250 per litre on his return.

This happened to a petrol station along East West road in PH.

Read what? Can't you see the evidence on your Streets? DPR knows where to seal not filling stations and they are lying to the public. If you are not informed about this situation then shut up. Don't believe the media reports. This is sabotage from ministry of petroleum and NNPC. Let Baru and Buhari speak and take actions. Read nonsense.

we are entering the last year of this government, where are the refineries? what Nigerians have achieved, from the subsidy remover? i am sure that was one of the reason Nigerians kicked against Jonathan from removing it, because nothing ever comes out from Abuja's. as long as Abuja's remains controlling the affairs of the states nothing good is going to come out Nigeria.

buhari is a failure and no other better word to describe it. only restructuring we saved Nigeria.

Maybe public executions would reset the selfish brains of some Nigerians.

Don't bore me with talks of civilization. When people behave like savages, what is the point of being civilized with them?

Give a gorilla a fork and knife to eat his food, he would likely stab you with it.

Why not place a DPR person in all the stations and record what's happening there while they sell petrol. When you seal it, you cut short. I know it's our usual way of using force than wit. Don't worsen the already bad situation. Just send your staffs across the stations for monitoring. There's no need to seal up any one.

That's if this is true. Anstalk.com?

DPR needs to do more.....I'm sure most filling stations has product but hoarding it to create artificial scarcity. May God help us from the hands of the fellow Nigerians who careless about others but themselves alone.

This is what we are talking about.
What should it take u to simply sell the products in ur filling station and wait for new one from NNPC? knowing fully well of this season celebration. What should it take u?
This is pure wickedness and greed.
Don't be surprise that most of this filling station owners will be on the front seat on Christmas day for church service. That's how evil we are.

Some of u will say 'if they have enough fuel they wouldn't have been able to hoard it' This alone is a problem mindset.

We are talking about filling stations owners, do u know what the tanker driver are doing? Do u even know they are cooperating to finish us? not even minding the season we're in?
You don't know.
That's exactly how evil and wicked we are.

We are so religious, but extremely ungodly.
God save us all.

I hope they first sell their fuel before sealing those stations o. If not the sealing will end up creating more hardship as there will be more pressure and queue in the stations that are not sealed. II doubt if sealing can be the appropriate solution in a situation like this.
