Israel has officially announced her intention to withdraw from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO. The country made this intention known via an official statement issued on Friday, December 29, 2017. This decision was prompted by resolutions that are critical to the Jewish state. Recall that United States had earlier pulled away from the organization after accusing them of 'anti-Israel bias'. I align with Trump's argument that it's high time a different approach is employed towards the resolution of the Jerusalem imbroglio. For decades, US has prevaricated under the guise of diplomacy. Time to stamp foot on the ground and do things differently. |
