There are so many issues affecting our business that we can bring to the table for discussion.
These include among other things;
1. The management of our flocks for optimum performance.
2. Weekly sales of turkey poult that will reduce the over bearing influence of the middle men.
3. Treatment of disease outbreaks.
4. Effective and efficient vaccination programs.
5. Artificial insemination techniques for enhanced fertility.
etc
The list is endless. Let the discussion begins in earnest please.

To me, nobody is an island of knowledge. So the experienced and active turkey farmers in the house please let us come around to share from each others wealth of knowledge.
Let's rub minds together and allow our experiences to rub off on one another.
And those of us with challenging issues or difficulties on our farms, let's bring them up for discussion here and allow professionals to help us look into it.

I learnt there is even a way by which one can use foreign male to cross local female through artificial insemination and achieve a better weight.

Re: Turkey Farmers Let's Meet Here by olly6559: 10:01pm On Jul 18, 2018
At what age does a local male turkey start mating and at what age does the female start laying eggs? How could a male turkey be differentiated from the female at a tender age, before full maturity?

1)from 7-8 months a male turkey is mature/ ready for mating, 2)female turkey start laying frm 7 months some may start from 8 months 3) it is not easy to differentiate a male or female turkey at tender age sir, one can only guess, some expert claim the male are taller and the female is smaller etc

Like I said it's my first time, I bred the turkey(cool with broilers and placed them on the same feed till I sold the broilers off. Since then I have been feeding the turkey with any feed available at the store especially layer and finisher

turkey like any other animal can be raise either free range (extensive) or cage system (intensive) or semi intensive. if you have just few turkey like a male and three female etc...you can practice free range system where you allow the bird to move around ur environment (better in a fence compound) but if you have or intend to raise large number of turkey a cage system is the best system to use....

you can ask direct question that way it will be easy to reply or you can google it if you need a broad type of reply
