One morning, a former colleague of mine, a Nigerian, once asked another colleague, an expatriate, a European, this question: “How was your night?”
The expatriate answered, “Why? Did you hear something?”
For Nigerians, asking ‘how was your night?’ is like asking ‘did you have a good night?’ but for that European, it meant something entirely different!
