So, it was a gas problem

Still, we need to fix our transmission and improve generation.

We've had light here for minimum of 18 hours daily for a month now

Even after the national grid went off, few hours later they restored it

Nigerians are so used to suffering and smiling.....
What will happen if we ever enjoy 24hours suppe of electricity?
They give light for 3 hours and Bill you for 24hrs....
It's so sad that many people may not even enjoy a 24hr electricity supply in this life time sad

Oga gej was a disaster. His govt was never as transparent...

GEJ did privatise power...which was basically the right thing to do as we did not have the billions of dollars needed to fix the whole thing.

Still, i daresay we may need to take a heavy loan to at least fix transmission.

You are correct

But this admin. Though has not delivered on their ambitious promises. The stealing we saw under PDP has lessened.

GEJ was and remains an idiot or slowpoke that was really clueless and did not care about Nigerians.

Some in this admin care but not able to do as needed plus the country is indeed broke after all the stealing and mismanagement since Obasanjo was Military President.

Ask yourself why Danjuma has oil wells and other high ranking former leaders?

Our problems are many and will take decades to unravel.

Why is no one asking why we are in recession despite budgets as follows:

2015 - N4.5 trillion
2015 - N2.1 trillion supplementary requested / N575 billion approved
2016 - N6.06 trillion
2017 - N7.3 trillion

Commendable.! Power was restored in my area around 3:10 AM. And with this prompt statement coming from The Ministry of Power, we're seeing a radical departure from the norm of the past.
However, the power sector is just toooooooo centralized. It should be liberalised in such a way that even individuals can generate and sell the power they generate. The power sector is not fully privatized, particularly the transmission aspect.

This is the first time we are experiencing communication from Nigeria electricity regulatory body as regards the power grid issue.

Let's appreciate this and encourage them to do more hence achieving stable electricity supply.

A remarkable one indeed and shame to the wailing pigs expecting the power outage to last for decades.

Now, this is more like what we voted for, own up to your mistakes and put plans in place to rectify them. Power just got restored. 6:01 am.

I am highly impressed because I had already giving up hope of seeing light for the next days or more.

If you follow the way some people on SM insults Fashola and this govt, one will offend God.

These are people that were comfortable with darkness for days under past administrations without explanation but now insult govt that is really working on fixing things in that sector at the slightest excuse of power cut for few hours in a day.
How many power stations did GMB build? How many did he build as PTF chairman? How many did his boss, Abacha build? He has been at corridor of power for over 25years!!

PMB gave the job and 3 vital ministries to Fashola for a reason.

Before declaring to contest the 2015 election, PMB personally flew to Lagos to invite Fashola, the first person he personally visited and invited and on top of that, he handed over his campaign's money and finances to Fashola to handle as the Finance Director and he went to his first G7 meeting with Fashola.

PMB saw talent, refinement and competence in Fashola hence tasking him with the most critical and complex jobs in his administration and their absolute trust that he'll deliver accordingly.

What we witnessed today and how his ministry responded was very new and refreshing, it makes you hopeful and proud that in our lifetime, we are looking at timely and responsive government ministries and agencies in Nigeria collaborating and responding collectively to swiftly address a common problem with minimal disruptions.

I'm very very hopeful.

I am so excited that this is happening in my life time!

Constant power in my area!
