Eleven people have been reportedly killed by a suicide bomber in a mosque in Gamboru Ngala, near Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

The worshippers died on Wednesday while observing their morning prayers in the boundary town with Cameroon.

Sources told the Nigerian Tribune that the bomber who went in to pray with the residents equally perished along with the other worshipers affected by the explosion.

Several have been reported wounded according to civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) sources but details are still sketchy.

Communication masts in the area are still down having being destroyed by insurgents so most residents there use foreign networks to communicate to loved ones in Maiduguri.
