Stay tuned! Trump to announce the 'winners' of his Fake News awards for 'dishonesty and bad reporting' on Monday
President Trump kept busy Tuesday evening announcing an upcoming 'awards' for 'dishonest and corrupt media' happening Monday
Shortly before president's 'awards' tweet he threatened Kim Jong-Un that he has a 'bigger nuclear button' than the North Korean leader
It is unclear as to how the prestigious veneration will be handed out considering people from the outlets being given the award will likely not attend a show
In an email sent out by the president's campaign, they ask for people to vote on three stories from 2017 or submit their own ideas for the 'honour'
Fake News, Faker News, Fakest News are the choices under the three stories being suggested in the email from Trump Make America Great Again Committee
The three news stories suggested are from CNN, Time Magazine and ABC News
Trump could potentially dole out the dubious distinctions on Twitter

Amid a flurry of bizarre, early 2018 tweets from President Trump, he lobbed possibly the strangest yet Tuesday night, saying he will announce 'THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR' Monday at '5:00 o'clock.'

Trump says the subjects that will be covered are 'Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media,' and added the television-style tease 'Stay tuned!'

The announcement from the president is not fake news. On December 28, an email from the 'Trump Make America Great Again Committee,' a project between the RNC and the Trump campaign, read: 'At President Trump's request, we are holding a contest to name the 2017 KING of Fake News. And we want to hear from you.'

The contenders for the top three fake news stories being presented for a vote via the email are as follows:

1. ABC News 'MISTAKENLY' reported that candidate Trump directed Michael Flynn to make contact with Russian officials before the election.

2. CNN 'MISTAKENLY' reported that candidate Donald Trump and his son Donald J. Trump, Jr. had access to hacked documents from WikiLeaks.

3. TIME 'MISTAKENLY' reported that President Trump removed a bust of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. from the Oval Office.

You can then decide whether the news is 'Fake News,' 'Faker News' or 'Fakest News' or 'Other, please specify.'

Voters can also submit their own ideas for entries- perhaps broadening the scope of the seemingly sparse field of three top options provided. 'Let the President know if there is another story you think should be crowned as the 2017 KING of Fake News.'

Here is the breakdown of the stories up for a vote:

The December 1 ABC report by journalist Brian Ross claimed Mike Flynn, the former national security advisor, was prepared to testify that Trump directed him to contact Russian officials before Election Day. The report was corrected to show that Trump directed Flynn to contact Russian officials before Inauguration Day.

CNN's reported that Donald Jr. received an email on September 4, 2016 from WikiLeaks granting them special access to materials that would later become public - however, he received the email from WikiLeaks on the September 14, 2016 - after the documents had been published, which indicated there was not a collaboration with the hacker organization and Trump.

And finally, of the top three contenders, is bust-gate. Time magazine erroneously reported that a bust of Martin Luther King Jr. was removed from the Oval Office. The reporter, Zeke Miller, spotted one of Winston Churchill but didn't see the one of King. However, Miller did not see behind a door that was essentially blocking his view of King's bust.

Miller, who is now with the Associated Press, apologized for the flub via Twitter, and then-White House press secretary Sean Spicer replied, 'Apology accepted.'

The 'awards' tweet comes just an hour after the president taunted Kim Jong-Un on Twitter, bragging that his own 'Nuclear Button... is a much bigger & more powerful than his.'

One outlet left in the cold is Fox News. The cable news favourite of the president is often promoted on his Twitter timeline.

While it remains unclear as to how the dubious distinctions will be announced, some wondered if the White House will be used to host an awards type ceremony.

However, considering no one from the outlets that will be awarded would likely attend, it seems more logical that the 'awards' will be announced on the president's favourite platform- Twitter.

Monday's public lambasting may be a special resolution for President Trump in 2018, as he closed out the New Year remarking: 'As our Country rapidly grows stronger and smarter, I want to wish all of my friends, supporters, enemies, haters, and even the very dishonest Fake News Media, a Happy and Healthy New Year,' the president wrote. '2018 will be a great year for America!'

Trump-watchers have become accustomed to his holiday tweets, which in the past have targeted both 'haters' and 'losers' with greetings, however this New Year he made a special mention for the 'Fake News Media.'

A lot of people on Twitter said they were displeased with the president spending time on such a thing, but not one to disappoint his fan base, or his 'haters', he will reveal the results on Monday at '5:00 o'clock.'
