Yusuf was discharged on Friday, January 12, after spending 17 days in the hospital-

The hospital also debunked claims that Yusuf's friend was involved in the motorcycle accident with him on Tuesday, December 26

The son of President Muhammadu Buhari has been discharged from Cedarcrest Hospitals.Yusuf Buhari was discharged from the hospital on Friday, January 12, Cedarcrest Hospitals said in an official statement.

The hospital said Yusuf was placed in its intensive careunit after an initial stabilization following injuries sustained as a rider in a motorcycle accident.The hospital added that Yusuf's condition remarkably improved after a surgery was carried out by a team ofneurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons before he was transferred from the ICU to the ward.

The statement said Yusuf had remained stable since hisadmission into the hospital on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.The hospital also said the president's son is ready to be discharged from the facility.Cedacrest Hospitals said: "His extreme speedy response to treatment so far is testimony to the world-class care he received here at Cedarcrest, Abuja."The hospital also appreciated the president and the firstlady for their confidence in the team.

Further debunking claims that Yusuf's friend was involved in the accident, the hospital said:"Suffice to say that there was only one person involved in this accident. No one else required treatment for this incident or its aftermath.

Yusuf's friend was not involved in the accident and did not sustain any injuries whatsoever."But confirming the release, a personal assistant to the president on new media, Bashir Ahmed, toldNAIJ.comthat Yusuf is already out of the hospital.

Ahmed said:"He is already out of the hospital, the statement by the hospital was released in the early hours of the morning today."NAIJ.comearlier reported thatPresident Buhari's son was involved in an accidentaround Gwarimpa area ofAbuja on Tuesday, December 26, night.It was gathered that Yusuf sustained injuries in a power bike accident when the incident occurred.Some presidential sources had said that:“Yusuf was trying to overtake his friend when he suddenly veered off the road and skidded."
