The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU, Ekiti State University (EKSU) chapter, has announced the commencement of an indefinite strike action. Workers at the Ekiti State University (EKSU) yesterday Wednesday, January 16, have reportedly gone on strike as they protested the non-payment of six-month subventions, salary arrears as well as cooperative deductions among others. Ekitidefender gathered that students and Lecturers are still available in school but no sign of any academic activity. I want to ask. Cant the Federal and State govts adopt the approaches of the private Universities on how to prevent unions going on strike. Hardly will you see lecturers of Private Universities going on strike. Does Union even exist in Private Universities. Firefire: Don't be shy, call out your underperforming. State and local government workers are been owed between four and six months salary despite improved allocations and Paris club refund plus budget support. Just on Monday, NUT directed primary school teachers in the state to proceed on strike. Now, it's ASUU EKSU chapter. Is this how you PDP intend to rule when you get back to power?
