Why Some Christians Backslide And Never Come Back To Christ. by JesusSonOfGod: 4:13pm On Jan 20, 2018
Any one that preaches how very difficult /impossible it is to serve God is of the devil. Anyone that thinks being a born again is an impossible task because it is not possible to live without sin, is thinking wrong.

We are saved because of God's love, not because we deserve it. As a born again, we became righteous not by our personal effort but by His grace we received it as a gift.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

But we must live right to be preserved in Christ. We must follow the cammands of Christ and we have a helper who empowers us to obey His commands, which is in the person of the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Note : Despite all these, we still fail occasionally. We still fall into sin occasionally. When this happens, we must have to reconnect with the Holy Spirit by asking God for His forgiveness.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

At the time when we fail, there's a voice that comes to speak to us, telling us how God will not pardon us, how it is difficult to live to please God. We must not listen to this voice. God already knows our weaknesses, all we need to do is to desire to overcome these sins and pray to overcome, then He will surely, definitely help us overcome, as long as we really desire to live right.

Anyone that has the Holy Spirit in Him, should hate sin and love righteousness. We must live right, desire and strive to live righteously, only then will He lead us in paths of righteousness. This sometimes is a gradual step. Alot of people backslide and never come back because they listen and believe that voice. It tells them that they can never make it right with God.

" We must assure those who have wandered away that God's love will continue to cover their sins, for many yearn to come home but are afraid they will only fail again. We must assure them that God is never disappointed, nor is He surprised by human failure for it is inevitable...And in the meantime, despite false start and failures, God is at work conforming some small part of us to His likeness, making us His portrait, His production, His work of fine art." - David Roper.

Let me conclude with the poem below by John Donne.

Wilt Thou forgive that sin where begun,
Which was my sin, though it were done before?
Wilt Thou forgive that sin through which I run,
And do run still, though still I do deplore?
When Thou hast done, Thou hast not done,
For I have more.

Wilt Thou forgive that sin which I have won
Others to sin? and made my sin their door?
Wilt Thou forgive that sin which I did shun
A year or two, but wallowed in a score?
When Thou hast done, Thou hast not done,
For I have more.

I have a sin of fear, that when I have spun
My last thread, I shall perish on the shore ;
But swear by Thyself, that at my death Thy Son
Shall shine as He shines now and heretofore;
And, having done that, Thou hast done —I fear no more.

Thanks and God bless you all.

Op, are you saying that living a possible sinless life is the same thing as making it right with God?

Humans believe in religion for a selfish reason, religion makes them feel important and significant. If they pretend to worship they think ...1. they are being noticed by this fantasy god... 2. that they can get rewards for worshiping... 3. they are superior to non believers.

You cannot rationalize this irrational selfish desire. Humans created this fantasy god... if there is a real "god" creator, this real objective "god" doesn't have to have anything to do with this human created subjective fantasy god. If you say this fantasy god is fake, they take it as a personal insult, because the point is their significance... and they may kill or imprison you.

Not everybody who backslides is a sinner! Some just stop going to church because when the pastor sleeps with church members, folks over there will tell you to leave him, God will judge him. Let the usher or choir member or just an ordinary member try it, they are going to hell! Hell starts from the church. Some of us just got tired. It is not sin, I was youth President for two years before I handed over. It was not as a result of sin.

There is nothing new in the church this days, pastors have lost ideas.

When you don't go to church, you ask yourself what are you missing, the answer is nothing.

People die for various reasons. You cannot use the issue of life and death to judge God. Even the most holy people die. I encourage you to come back to God. Get properly born again and serve God then you will find blessing for your soul in the life here and thereafter

When they finally discovered that shouting, praying in the name of God is exercise in futility as nobody answers any prayers.

How many people can tell me that 70% of prayers have been answered.? Why would someone now continue to waste his time on something that's not bringing out results.

And if you look critically at all the stories in the Bible, think and evaluate critically, u discover that they are not just adding up and full of fallacies...

When they get wiser, they ain't coming back to JESUS, because he doesn't exists in the first place!

That your dad died does not eliminate the existence of God. Christianity is not waste and will never be waste.

Read your Bible as much as possible.

Mr man, what you're doing by taking this kind of moniker is tantamount to blasphemy. You're not Jesus the Son of God. I humbly advise you to take another moniker. Jesus is an ordinary name that anyone can bear, but when it's combined with "theSonofGod", you're saying something else.
That aside, the writeup is splendid. God bless you. Please deactivate this account and get another name. I guess you were the one also operating the ChristJesus moniker. It's wrong.
